Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

Word 2003 When using bullets, hitting the tab button on the keyboard only increases the space between the bullet or number and the contents. It does not increase the indent of the bullet and the margins or change the bullet from, for example, 1. to a. In order to increase the indent, the button on the toolbar must be used. Shouldn't the tab key work with bullets the same way it works with and indent to a paragraph?

My monitor turns yellowish i can still work what is the problem. the monitor is a Acer V233H

The red "gun" of your CRT monitor is going bad. You will need to get a new monitor, and you should seriously consider an LCD flat screen. It will save you allot in electricity.

A CRT monitor is a very cool piece of technology inside... even though they are going obsolete with the advent of modern LCD displays.

In every CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitor, there is a trio of "Electron Guns"- they fire electrons at the front of the screen, hitting it with billions upon billions of electrons... the "bullets". Each gun is aimed at a set of colored targets, called "pixels"... one gun hits red ones, one for green, and one for blue. Combinations of these colors make up everything we can see.

When the red "gun" cannot fire enough electron "bullets" at the screen, the blue and green together make the picture appear yellowish.

If you want to learn more, look up "cathode ray tube" on wikipedia for starters!

A word of warning- the technology is very cool (I used to teach how CRT screens worked as part of my job teaching Missile fire control radar for the Navy), BUT:

THERE ARE VERY HIGH VOLTAGES INSIDE A CRT MONITOR THAT CAN KILL!!! DO NOT OPEN
THE CASE!!!!

Remember- the electron "guns" inside are shooting billions and billions of electrons at the front of the screen. They are being collected from the screen by a high voltage "supply". Most CRT's operate with anywhere from 15 to 45 THOUSAND VOLTS!

Keyboard stopped working

Hi there.
Firstly check the battery compartment for any leakage from the batteries while you was away, if there is leakage clean it off and reinsert the new batteries.
If there is no leakage insert the batteries.
Now, does your mouse have a docking station? I am guessing you have because it sounds like your keyboard is wireless.
There should be a connect button on the mouse docking station, if there is press it and hit the connect button on the keyboard and then hit the space bar, hopefully your problem will be solved.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

I like a speed hack crossfire

First, learn to use google search. Second, skill>hack. Obviously you are a little kid, and little kids like hacks because they have no skill, but if you spend enough time playing a game, you learn the level, your gun, the routes the other team takes and how to make controlled bursts at someones head. Remember, one shot to the head out of three bullets that missed will still kill a person. Six bullets in the legs will not. There, take my little helpful advice and stop ruining games. Fortunately, no one has an invincible hack, so you'll still get killed by people like me. Enjoy.

Keyboard problem.

Just replace the keyboard. It is not worth the trouble of fixing yours when new ones are as low as $10.00-15.00 USD. Also you can take this opportunity to get a keyboard that might have some buttons that could be useful to you IE: internet,e-mail,calculator, plus some have buttons you can set to whatever you want.

Keyboard buttons

Hi Grumpy Gran
Great name by the way. Are they listed top to bottom ` a two headed arrow, caps lock, an up arrow and ctrl?
These are not particular active keys. If you have used a typewriter the two headed arrow is the tab key, use it to jump a given number of spaces to the right.
The caps lock will set your keyboard in capitals mode. The uparrow is the shift key which temporarily puts it into capitals or vice-versa. The ctrl key is a special key which is not used in normal typing. You may not need it in normal use.
Good luck with your surfing.
ps its not a good idea to unplug your keyboard whilst the computer is still on. You should connect it when the computer is off so that it is detected when the computer starts.
