How do I Change preferences for my Home location when it is wrong on my tablet?

  1. Go to the settings app: On most tablets, the settings app can be found in the app drawer or on the home screen.
  2. Locate the location settings: Look for a section labeled "Location" or "Location & Security". The location settings may be located under the "Device" or "System" section.
  3. Turn on location services: Make sure that the location services toggle switch is turned on.
  4. Change the home location: Look for a setting labeled "Home" or "Home Address". Tap on this option to open a map view. Use your finger to move the pin to the correct location.
  5. Save the changes: Once you have the correct location set, tap on "Save" or "Set as Home".
Note: The steps may vary slightly depending on the specific model and operating system of your tablet. If you are unable to find the location settings, try searching for "location settings" in the device's search bar or help center.

I can't get my beginning location set in product. Should I delete and re-register?

If your home location is set wrong you can delete it and then set it again. When it's deleted;
  • At your home press WHERE TO and then HOME
  • The satnav will tell you that there's no home location set and give you some options including USE CURRENT LOCATION.
  • Select this and your home location will be correctly set.
If you have a problem deleting your original home location you can
  1. Press TOOLS the spanner icon on the page with WHERE TO and VIEW MAP
  2. Then press MY DATA followed by SET HOME LOCATION
  3. Again if you're at your home press USE CURRENT LOCATION
You should back up your favourites folder each time you add new favourites. Details of how to do this are at http://www.fixya.com/support/r8422587-backup_restore_favourites_garmin_nuvi

The device does not pick up current location. It defaults to a location 700km away from where I am. Also, the time is incorrect - how do I change the time.

i dont see a brand so i will give a genrealized answer.
By current location i assume the opening screen display reverts to a default location which is what location it was initially set at or is a default in the unit. Most GPS give you an option to set Your STATE and home location. this is usually in SETTINGS Menu. The time and data are also changable inthe same area using you country location and then the State and any daylight savings offset that might apply. These are sometimes, volatile as there is no power to keep these settings alive when in off mode only in standby mode. the button on front of unit. If the master on/off is selected your settings weill revert back to default so its wise to keep it well charged if you use it every day and want to maintain your preferred settings. Hope that helps you

GPS not working

Try this -

1) Settings > Enable 3G Change to Off.

2) Use the iPhone GPS receiver to locate your position

3) Settings > Enable 3G change to On.

There are two positioning systems in the iPhone 3G, one is the 3G network, and the second is the GPS receiver. The problem occurs when the data from the two systems doesn't match.
