Question about Samsung S630 Digital Camera
The Charged Coupled Device or CCD is slowly going out. This is the component that receives the image after it passes through the lens. It is a very light sensitive device whose purpose is to translate the image into an electrical signal so that the electronics in the camera can process light electrically. Unfortunately this component will not last forever. Just like the human eyes, they tend to go bad after time, especially if it gets exposed to a lot of light and eventually go blind. The part can be replaced but requires skilled soldering techniques to remove it from the circuit board, thus can get expensive. My recommendation is to get another camera, since the cost to repair will probably cost more than a new one. It's surprising that this lasted three years - you got your money's worth!
