Question about HP LaserJet P2015dn Printer

1 Answer

My HP 2015 dn looses connectivity in my network (home) HP suggests Static MAC Table Entry - A static entry of the printers MAC address can be placed in the switchs MAC table for the port that the printer is connected to. A static entry will not be aged since aging only applies to dynamic entries that are created automatically when the switch senses a device on a port.`` How do I do this? I am not a technician....

How to stop user privately setting up a static IP address?

Huawei S2300/3300/5300 series switch although no H3C switches am user-bind command, but through the DHCP Snooping function can also be realized IP+MAC+ port binding to prevent users set up a static IP address. For example, if the request port Ethernet0/0/1 in addition to the static IP address for the 1.1.1.2, MAC address for the 001c-2309-9aa7 corresponding to the user, all other static IP users can not access the internet. Configuration is as follows:
Configure the device DHCP Snooping
# enable the global DHCP Snooping function.
[Quidway] DHCP snooping enable
# configure user side interface of VLAN.
[Quidway] VLAN 100

This vergonwhy printer HP 2015N always losing configuration Network .

Can you clarify a little better. HP had an issue with some of this generation printers when used with some types of routers such as Cisco. The problem is that to reduce network traffic, these printers go silent. But the Cisco routers will then drop the IP address is it has not been able to communicate for a certain period of time. You need to add a static entry in the ARP table so that the printer stays live all the time in the routing tables. Or, the formatter is getting flaky.

Try to connect the hp laserjet 8000 to network, since we connected with static ip, how could I change to dynamic ip?

First, why would you want a printer with a dynamic address? Do you have one reserved in the dhcp scope for it? Do you have the printer named in DNS? Printers are much easier to deal with when they have a static address, they're always in the same place on the network.
All that said, browse through the menus till you find the network setup find the IP menu and set it to automatic. Very simple. Make sure to save your configuration change.

How do i split out multiple static ip's

You need to attach a DHCP-server to the hub/switch, and configure that DHCP-server to "reserve" a specific IP-address for the MAC-address for the network adapter inside each of the computers that is to receive a "static" IP-address.
For a DHCP-server, you can connect a "cross-over" Ethernet cable from one of the switch-ports to one of the LAN-ports on any "home" wired router. That "home/SOHO" router will become the DHCP-server for all the computers connected to the switch.

Hi

The Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is very crucial for TCP/IP network communication. If you begin to notice network connectivity problems such as particular web pages not loading or not being able to ping certain IP addresses then clearing your ARP cache is a good place to start. The TCP/IP ARP Command component provides the functionality to add, delete, or display the IP address for Media Access Control (MAC) address translation.

To flush/Delete the ARP cache in windows 7/Vista/XP/2000/Server 2003/2008 follow this procedure
Click on Start->Run-> type the following command click ok
netsh interface ip delete arpcache
Dynamic ARP cache entries update persist for 2-20 minutes depending on the system.
Windows 2003 Server = 10 minutes
Windows 2000 professional/Server = 10 minutes
Windows XP = 2 minutes
Solaris = 5 minutes
Delete IP address using arp command
arp -d <ip address>
Example
arp -d 10.1.1.2
Display arp table
arp -a
Add static entry to ARP table
arp -s <ip address> <mac address>
Example
arp -s 157.55.85.212 00-aa-00-62-c6-09

Hi there,
To find the static IP and Mac Address of your printer, press and hold green button for 10 seconds until green and yellow light starts blinking together, it will take out 3 print outs, 1 is printer information, 2nd will be configuration page, 3rd will be the toner status page,
Also you can Check your printer manual. This is the easiest and fastest way to find the printer's MAC address
Alternatively Print out a configuration page.
If you require more assistance, feel free to reply to this post
Thanks for Asking FixYA!
