In all likelihood, the belt that runs the tumbler is loose, causing the tumbler to rotate off center. While it takes a few minutes, the front of the dryer should be removable and you can take the tumbler out and replace the belt.

Maytag atlantis dryer all the sudden will not turn on or make any noise.

I suspect the door safety switch is broken. If not check one, some dryers have two, high limits. These are safety switches that keep the tumbler from spinning when door opened, and prevent the dryer from overheating

Drum fails to operate at times and making a screaching noise. Sometimes drum needs to be spun by hand to get it operating and spinning.

All dryers have to have a way of allowing the tumbler (that's the thing you put the clothes in) to turn freely, not all of them are the same tho, some use bearings, some use slides, others use rollers. Over time these rollers will need to be oiled, the slides will get thin and start metal to metal contact causing a noise, The rear bearings will then start to make their way to china and cause the tumbler to rub into the heating element and OUCH! These things will cause the motor to prematurely DIE! Its best to examine the dryers, rollers, and slides when you first hear the noise, but who does?

Dryer tumbler does not spin freely. Makes grinding noise. checked belt and pulley. ok. two wheels that the tumbler rests on, one wheel is free wheeling, while other is stiff.

These wheels are your drum rollers, and you should go ahead and change them both out while you're in there. We have parts so callus with your brand and model number and we'll be sure to get these out to you right away to get you up and running again!

Beko tumble dryer was making strange noise now no heat but still spinning

How old is your dryer? strage noise usually take place if the unit is old and worn out. I dont know of any washer or dryer doesn't make noise after years of using. The more you use the more ware and tear and noise come from the unit. Noise can be the belt loose or tumbler padding or flange, connected to a simple bushing is worn out, making the unit woobily noisy. No heat mean your heating elements probably burnt out need replacing which will cost 80-100 bucks. its fairly easy to replace once you remove the back cover. To find out what making that noise, the best thing to do is run the dryer with the back cover off by look and listhen and see what making that noise.

Rubbing noise

Try checking the glide's under the front of the drum, the drum rest on the glide's to help it spin with little or no friction.

Electric dryer makes a rumbling when tumbler is turning.

Check the drum bearing, a load noise, and often spinning problems are symptoms of a bad drum bearing. The bearing is at the base of the drum and accessing it is not easy.

You can find diagrams and replacement parts entering model number here.
