I would try and check two different items. First, using a multimeter or test light ensure that there is correct voltage going to each of the sources and you have a good solid grounding source. Second is trying a reset to the unit.

I had the same issue with green light always on and not turning off. Call button plus volume up button did not work when the unit was not plugged in. When I plugged the unit in to charge, the volume up and call button (together) did reset the unit.

Onkyo tx-ds656 stand by power light comes on volume control knob rotates to max but display or unit wont start

Try factory reset: while holding the(CD) button on front panel, press (POWER) button.
After "Clear" is displayed the unit should be back to its factory default. :) If this dont work for you take the unit to be checked by service . :)

Can't turn one unit off when I turn the volume allthe way down I get no click and the unit stays on

Unfortunately, your volume potentiometer (the part behind your volume knob, which connects to the component board, has gone bad. This can happen from turning the knob too far past full volume or even sometimes when turning it off. The part to repair this has never been offered as a replacement part. Your only solution is to remove the battery to turn the unit off.

Best regards.

If I stretch a rubber band around the volume knob on cb, keeping pressure on it, it will stay on.

Sounds like the switch is worn out. Time to visit the CB Radio Shop and have them replace the on/off/volume pot.

Sound volume is very low in one of the units. battery power shows three bars.

You do not mention how many units you are using, so first if you have only two radios, check the mic hole on the 'good' radio to see if it is clogged with dirt or debris. On the radio with poor volume, try the volume knob at different settings. Example: turn it up to full volume then incrementally back it off a quarter turn to see if you find a 'sweet spot'. The volume potentiometer is a common failure part on this model. The other issue you could be having is bad speaker. If this is the case, the radio would need to be repaired by a trained service technician. (Flat rate repair on this unit can usually be found for around $69) Lastly, you might check your programming to see if you have something set incorrectly, or if you might be on a nearby frequency instead of exactly the same. For your convenience here is a link to the manual: http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/manuals/T7400.pdf

Best regards.

Starbucks Sirena. lights blink, won't heat.

johnshami had this solution on another post, and it worked for us:
  1. make sure the water in the tank is stone cold -- which is a no brainer since it will not heat h2o unless it's primed.
  2. take off steamer wand cover, turn the steamer knob clockwise till pump starts.
  3. then s*ck (as you would on a straw, with your lips sealed around the end of the steamer wand) the tip of the end of the metal tip hard until pump stops
  4. may need to do it a couple of times. yes this seems crazy, but it works! you are flushing out the vapor lock in the pump.

Sound increases as you accelerate. can you switch off?

I know what you mean. Used to be a source of irritation in this otherwise super-quiet car. It was like "hey... the music plays far too loud now please drive a little slower dad". Really irritating on the Autobahn, constantly fiddling on that volume knob.

Interestingly, the instruction manual for the business CD main unit gave no clues at all! Then I found the solution at the bimmerfest BMW forum:

"
1.Power down the unit (using the knob) and power back up in the radio mode
(either AM or FM).
2. Hold down the "m" button (right of the display) until your display shows
a serial # xxxxxxxxxxx.
3. Using the "+" or "-" buttons that surround the center "musical note
symbol" button to the left of your display, scroll until "GAL 3" comes up,
which is factory setting. Using the number buttons 1 thru 6 below your
display, press the number "1". Your display will now read "GAL 1 ".
4. Power down the unit again (using the knob) and when you power back up,
your new setting will be effective!
5. To confirm that the new setting is active, repeat steps 2 & 3 to check
your "GAL" setting.
6. Enjoy your HK unit's volume the way YOU want to hear it!
"

I assume there are slightly different versions of this in different models but it goes something like this, the keyword you are looking for in the menu system is "GAL" which is a German acronym for speed-sensitive volume control (Geschwindigkeitsabhängige Lautstärkenregelung für Radio).

Good luck!

Honda Civic Issue with Radio Volume Control

This is a known problem with the factory units and no, there is no fix. There is a series of checks you can do, but short of that the only option has been to replace the unit. I have included the graphic for the checks, other than that it is not fixable.
