    1. check for any blown fuses on your dryer.
    2. check for the heating element, use a ohm meter to check this part..
    3. look for the blown thermal fuse at the exhaust duct,.
    4. & also check the electrical wiring inside the unit.

    let me know here again.

    First pull your dryer away from the wall, then take off the exhaust
    hose and run a load, if no improvement, then its likely one of your
    heaters is bad. You would have to then unplug the dryer then take it
    apart.

    This link will help you do that:

    Here is the new element for your model:

Kenmore 500 dryer

If you mean that it is not heating and stays cool, most likely the pilot sensing thermocouple needs replacing (if you have a gas drier with a pilot light) or the electronic ignition contacts need replacing (if you have a gas drier with electronic ignition). Not sure about an electric drier, but probably the heating element needs replacing, or the thermocouple sensor (most likely). None of these are very expensive.

FGR231ASY GAS DRYER BURNS FLEESE MATERIAL CLOTHING WHY

Hello my name is George,
I was wondering if the dryer was just burning fleece or all of your clothes. Fleece is a very delicate material, and should be dried on low temp or delicate depending on your drier. Driers are thermally protected inside with various parts. If the drier is getting to hot one of these would have caused the drier to stop heating. If the drier is burning all the clothes and not just the fleece I would recommend having a technician come out and check it as this could be a hazard for you and your family.

My drier is igniting after the start button is pressed but the flame only stays on for a very short time and shuts off. It seems that the dryer never reaches desired temp. Clothes do not dry.

Kenmore dryer

this promblem is about always a vent promblem or not cleaning the drier filter if your using the plastic vent check if its mashed behind the drier you must have 4inch of vent all the way throuch if its mashed or folded over its cut down to 2inches if it hangs under your house then comes up to the outside vent housing it can fill with water if the outside hood door isnt oping that will do it too its in your vent some where what i tell cust to do is run 4inch pvc from out side hood up through floor then run short metel vent to pvg attach with clamp to confirm vent restriction take vent loose for one load and see if it dries in right amount of time
