Question about Kyocera FS-2000D Laser Printer

1 Answer

Our FS2000D keeps forgetting it has a 2nd casset tray. I am having to go into properties daily (at least) and tick the box. This is a pain. Any ideas?

Vcr/tv how to get the carriage unstuck

It sounds as if the drive belt or wheel that controls the carriage has perished and failed. There is normally a micro switch on the side or rear of the tray, that senses the presents of a casset. If it is closed with stikky tape or clay you may be able to simulate a casset in the machine and with manual force help the casset to open or close. alternatively a small lamp in the centre of the tray senses the tape. then you have to cover the lamp or two sensors on left and right side of the tray, to prevent detection of the broken or missing tape.

Can a simpletech external harddrive work with windows 7

It can but windows 7 is a real pain with large external drives even large usb pen drives.
I have steered well clear of using large usb external drives on windows 7 got nothing but problems.
Here are some of the possible problems and fixes you might have to correct.

w7 First, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

Click "Start" button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the "Search" bar and press "Enter". Click "Continue" if necessary.

In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".

Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically. Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X you will need to update/reinstall drivers right click to reinstall drivers if you can see your usb drive but its not working ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem Check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts Click start control panel administrive tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in one box then select check now start or you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box (I have found better results ticking the first box then reurn and tick the second box) you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive also you might need to do this Click start click to open on my computer you should see your usb drive F: right click select properties there will be an array of options select the sharing tab option then advanced sharing permissions make sure you have a tick in the share this folder box then click permissions make sure all three boxes are ticked you full control change and read in windows 7 Click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP
also
If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to:
Click start right click on my computer select open

Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F: / E: or something)
Click Properties in the menu that comes up
Click the Sharing tab
Click permissions

And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.

you might have restore it to its defaults Right click on usb drive select properties you will have an array of options Select the hardware option then select your drive properties policies restore defaults In XP Right click on your drive select properties then on customize restore Default in W 7

good luck

Wifi

Try going to control panel > network connections

right click the wireless connection and select properties
at the bottom of the window is a tick box for displaying the system tray icon, tick it.

You could try a right click on a blank area on your task-bar goto properties then untick "Hide inactive icons", it may help.

If not go here, theres a bunch of ideas that could help you.

I have an 8 gb sandisk pendrive. but now it shows only 4 gb in properties. how to tackle this problem?

click start control panel administrative tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes

automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start

you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive

I found that you get best results by ticking one box then returning after it has finished then tick the other box

if still no joy

Right click on usb drive select properties you will have an array of options

Select the hardware option then select your drive properties policies

restore defaults

In XP

Right click on your drive select properties then on customize restore Default in W 7

hope this helps you
