Question about DISH Network ViP722 DTV Receiver / 350-Hours Video Recorder

My dvr shows a 1hr program fully recorded, and begins playback fine. After almost 10 min playback ends but when paused, continues to show another 50 min available.

Hello! Daniel Busa with Dish Network here. That actually happened to me about a month ago a hard reset resolved it for me. If that doesn't do it try deleting all of the recordings that don't play back correctly,reset it again and keep an eye on things, it may be a bad box.

I had a new dvr added to my TWC cable services,but installer did not totally explain how to record or find recordings after taping. Can anybody tell me how to remedy this problem?

How do I record a show using my DVR and i-Guide?

There are multiple ways to do this:
  1. Press the RECORD button on your remote control while watching a program to begin recording. An overlay will appear on your screen to let you know you have started recording.
  2. From the TV listings grid, highlight the show you want to record and press the Record button.
  3. From any program information screen, highlight the Record icon and press the OK/Select button on your remote to schedule a recording. Follow the on-screen prompts for additional recording options.
Manually schedule a recording for a specific time or channel:
  1. Press the MENU button on your remote control then select the DVR icon.
  2. Or, if available, press the My DVR button on your remote control.
  3. Select the start time, end time and day that you want to record.
  4. Press Confirm.
  5. In the channel list that appears, select the channel to record from.
  6. Select Record to confirm your settings or select Recording Options for additional options.

The issue may be is that you have a DVD in your dvr , that still shoes that date and time. Just a possibility, not sure,. try to see if you can take DVD out of dvr, and use a new one. I happened to me but, the case was a vcr,and I had a recorded video tape which while playing , was showing a blue screen, with "no data received" which actually it was when no data vcr was receiving from cable at the time it was recording . If the problem still is not solved then there is issue with some circuits, and processors. Also you may want to check if Bunker Hill has any customer support, to check with them.

DVR-R10 stops recording with 10-15 mins left


If it's your cable box DVR, you need to call your cable provider to reset your cable box.

My dish network dvr stops recording some programs, i think its just shows that are to be recorded on tv 1. It will record only like 10 minutes or less and stops recording

Check the timers you have setup for the programs that are suppose to record. Make sure the timers are setup correctly. Do you have any timers setup to begin early and end late? A new software update rolled about 2 weeks ago. Did you start experiencing the problem after that? Also, how much available time is available on the HD? Please let me know so I can further assist you.

Dish 510 DVR that wont record properly or play paused TV show


Make sure that the software is correct. Should be P4.07
you can go into the DVR and replace the hard drive but I would suggest getting Dish Home Plan, Replace the receiver and then cancel the Home Plan. Talk to Dish Network and they will work with you.

Doesn't stop recording


Make sure there is no time overlap on any of the programs you have on the recorder.

That is the most likely problem

Dish Network DVR 625 Problem with playback of recorded shows


It sounds as though the hard drive is about to go south on you soon and the receiver is going to need to be replaced however, in the interim you can change the options of the recordings and make it a default so that the recording continues past the end of the show. It is possible that extending this time will allow you to view the portion you want before it skips to the end. In order to do this press the guide button and select a program in the future. On the create timer screen select the option icon. You will now be at the timer options screen you can extend the time the recording will last after the end of the show and when it will begin recording prior to the show. I would also set this as your systems default so that it performs the same way regardless of what you are recording. According to the latest known receiver issues this is not identified as it is a common indication that the hard drive has an error internally. If this works I suggest that you have a replacement sent to you so that you do not lose the use of your DVR un-expectantly.Remember to watch all recorded events prior to replacement as you will lose that info when the receiver is swapped. Problem with recording playback


i would suggest unplugging the receiver from the power outlet for about 10 seconds and then plugging it back in, do not turn receiver back on, it should come up on its own after a few minutes, if it doesnt wait another minute and then press power, it will reacquire signal and then you can try again. is this issue only effecting tv1???

My remote doesn't work when recording.


I have the same problem with my dvr. I went to tech support at sony. The tech spent a lot of time researching the problem. I had to leave so I told him to email me when he had some information. It's been 3 days now and I havent heard from him yet.
