Question about GE Refrigerators

Open Question

This one has been a problem for the last few weeks and I canâ??t seem to figure it out. I have a 3 year old GE profile Counter depth Stainless Steel Side by Side refrigerator. Itâ??s the nicest fridge Iâ??ve ever bought but the fridge section is too warm. It stays around 60 degree all the time. The freezer seems fine. Normally I would check the timer, and the thermostat, but the freezer is fine and nor frozen at all. This is a Dual Evaporator unit so the freezer is not connected to the fridge. I checked the small evaporator coils in the fridge section and they donâ??t seem very cold. The are kinda cool at best. What would cause them to be too warm? Arenâ??t they connected to the same compressor as the freezer? The evaporator fan is running to move the air. There is a good amount of condensation on the walls of the fridge. Also I just replaced the mother board and it made no difference. Model number: psc25mswa Can anyone help?

Unplug the wires from the motor and check the voltage differential cross the two wires. If you have 120 Volts or in that area the motor should run. Try moving the fan shaft up and down. If you have any play in this the motor bearing are bad. Replace the motor.

SOURCE: GE TFX26KRDA WW 2001 side by side refrig/freezer w warm fridge

Cleaned the condenser coils which were dusty but not severely so. Checked the evaporator coils which were NOT iced. Reset the fridge to coldest setting and freezer to #5 (mid range of temperature) and waited a full 36 hours. Fridge temp is 40 F and freezer is about 0F. Not sure what is different except coldest setting on fridge. Warm weather is here but not warm enough to require AC. Temps in late afternoon in house about 77-80F. Any thoughts are appreciated because I suspect this problem is not completely resolved.

remove the crisper drawers and you will see a drain trough and a drain line . One or both is most likely blocked. If you pull the drain line off the trough usually you can clear it with a turkey baster filled with hot water
