Jacuzzi toilet does not fill enough water in the bowl

Check to see if there is not a clog in the trap. This could keep your bowl from filling up. Also check the flapper and see if it is staying afloat in the tank long enough during the flush. Either of these could be the cause here.

The toilet bowl never stays full of water? It empty's out and if you need to use it for a BM you need to flush it first to get water in the bowl. How do I fix this?

I have the same problem with my Toto TS703. When you flush it, it fills the bowl with water to the rim and stops. Within an hour, the water in the bowl is totally empty except for a small puddle. This has been going on for a few days. It was installed 3 years ago and never had a problem with it until now.

Toilet is clogged . Plunging hasn't cleared the clog. Water drains quickly but don't get the gulp that all has flushed. What should I do other than take a sledge hammer to the Jacuzzi toilets and...

Pull the toilet up and look underneath it for a toy that got stuck. Also, look down the waste pipe for a toy that got stuck or for tampons.

Your not supposed to flush tampons down the toilet, because they are super absorbent and get stuck down the pipe, which inhibits waste flow. Especially the tampons with wings, cause they grip on the the side walls like the Dickens. You can rent a drain snake and send it down the waste pipe a few times to clear the clog. Make sure the bathroom vent is on and the windows open, because the smell is most disagreeable.

Alternatively, before going into this invasive procedure-you can go to Ace hardware and buy a bottle of Liquid Fire and pour it down the toilet to see if that clears things up. You can also order Liquid Fire online. This stuff dissolved a python rather quickly that had gotten into the waste pipe and clogged the thing up.

Cheers old chap.

Jacuzzi espirit less than 1 year old, toilet runs and occassionally makes whisting noise. Sometimes it does not run - there is no pattern to what causes it to run or not run. This started suddently,...

Your symptoms point to a faulty "fill valve" (the piece with the float adjustment), and is most commonly caused by small particles caught inside from normal use or a mineral build up. To save time and energy i recommend you replace it with a Lavelle "Quiet Fill" fill valve available at most hardware or plumbing stores or online. They come with very easy to follow install instructions.

My toto toilet on average needs 2-3 flushes. It seems as though air is coming up into the bowl. I checked the vent and it seems ok. I already replaced the flapper but that was another problem. Any advice?

If your on a septic system the air coming back is telling you one of 2 things. Either the septic tank vent is clogged or the Septic tank itself is full.

For a non septic system you can have a restriced toilet drain or clogged pluming vent outside of the home. Most of the time the vent goes straight up to the roof within a few feet of the actual intalled water closet / toilet. Check the vent to see if the birds have built a nest in it or that someone got a bit over zealous with winterizing the home and placed a bag over the vent. If the vent is clear your going to have to find out where the restriction is either in the toilet bowl passages or you home plumbing. Sadly this usually involves removing the toilet from it's mount and stinking up the home. If you remove the toilet bowl in your troubleshooting process your going to need to replace the bees wax floor seal when you re-mount it to the drain. A word of advice on checking the vent... Use a vacuum that is blowing air and a rag to assist in covering the hose to see if you get air bubbles in your toilet bowl. Do NOT use your mouth to do this. It could ruin your day.

Master bath toilet replaced with a Cimmeron class 6 confort height toilet. The master bath toilet backs up to the hall bath toilet - same wall. The hall toilet is very old. When the old toilet is flushed,...

Kohler is correct. The most likely cause of this problem is an obstruction in the common vent stack that both toilets share. When you flush the old toilet it need more air to flush and will get it from the easiest source (your new water saver toilet). First adjust the float level in the old toilet so it won't use as much water or just stick a brick in the tank to take up space.Second, run a snake down the vent stack from the roof to check for obstructions. Birds will sometimes nest in there.
