Actually I used to work til last Sunday then totally went to limited and was stuck on one channel for a long time. it then now works but I cannot use it to turn the TV on/off and volume now. Point is that I used to be able to as late as last Saturday so it is for sure true I could do it again.

If even the AutoTune didn't work then this remote doesn't have even just similar codes for your tv in it. Since in this remote new codes can't be added it means that this remote is incompatible to your tv and there is nothing anyone can do to fix that. Sorry, you will have to use another remote.

If you haven't done anything to the remote and the sat dish unit can still be controlled without a problem then the problem is in the tv, not the remote. Something went south in it and it has froze the control processor.
If all the devices that this remote controls (or should) have problems then the remote itself is defective - it just failed. You will have to replace it.

My remote control only works for tv on & off and volume but not to change dish channel

I experienced this problem as well. I have a dual receiver and had issues turning channels on TV2; but counld easily access the volume. After reading the Dish manual, I learned that my TV1 and TV2 remotes connect through different signals (IR = infrared for TV1; and UHF= ultra-high frequency for TV2).

Check your remote to see if there is a UHF logo at the very bottom (under the Dish Network logo). The UHF remote sends ultra-high frequency radio signals to a UHF antenna which is connected to the back panel of the receiver. Make sure that you receiver is properly dusted and then check to make certain that the UHF antenna located on the back of the receiver is positioned straight-up. When the antenna is not correctly positioned it can cause problems with your remote signals.

My remote is not responding to the 2nd tv satellite... but it does work for the tv

Hello walker3putt, my name is Michael Hurst with DISH Network. Is this remote an IR or UHF? There are ways of reprogramming the remote to the receiver. If this is and IR remote for an independent receiver then you can try pulling the smartcard out and System Information will come up on the TV. Look at the Remote Address on the TV and write down the number. Then Hold Sat until all lights on top of remote light up. Let go of the Sat button and pick a number from 1-15 and then press # and Record. Your remote address should change. If there isn't a smartcard in the receiver then try the menu button on the front of the receiver. If this is a secondary remote and is UHF you will have to take remote 2 to the room where the receiver is located and follow the same steps.
