Question about Senco FP18 FinishPro 18 - Gauge Brad Nailer, 5/8" - 2"

Open Question

I have a Senco FinishPro 18 that hasn't had a lot of use, but quit working suddenly. The trigger doesn't feel like it's activating anything. I have good pressure, no leaks. I took the main chamber and piston assy. apart and everything is brand new looking. I still suspect something in the trigger mechanism, but can't see how to disassemble it. (there are rivets holding the trigger in place).

Air tends to leak near trigger of my senco sls15 1/4" crown stapler . how can i stop it?

You have worn or broken o-rings/seals inside the gun. You need a Senco repair kit YK0393. Senco doesn't make them any more but there are still a few to be found on the internet. If you can't find one, go to the Senco webpage, find the parts breakdown for your gun and order all of the o-rings, seals and gaskets and rebuild your gun.

Looking for a diagram or schematic for a senco fp18

I have a SENCO FinishPro18 that I inherited from my son when he died a year ago. It has worked fine till now. It does not shoot a nail when depressed against a board and I pull the trigger. I don't hear air leaking, but it seems there is little pressure. Having taken apart the head, then the base, it all seems in good shape. I have not taken apart the trigger assembly, as the removal is a total commitment. Thoughts? I could use some help.

Missing every second nail

2 possibilities
1 trigger valve needs replacement, piston not fully retracting every time
2 feeder spring needs replacement, less likely but possible

Senco Finishpro18 just stopped shooting nails. Took it apart put it together. Shoots a couple of nails then stops. Press the nailer against the target pull the trigger and air comes out of the handle.

I just had the same problem with mine. Exact same symptoms. My guess is that your gun hasn't been used in a while.

I called Senco and they recommended removing the top cap, removing all o-rings (one at a time) gently stretch them, put a small amount of lithium grease in the o-ring track, and replace the o-rings. This fixed my problem and I hope it fixes yours!

Senco has awesome tech support for their tools. I will not buy another brand because of their support. 800-543-4506

Do you regularly use air-tool oil placed in the air connection? If it gets a good workout every day, buy an 'inline' oiler that is inserted into the air line which automatically takes care of oiling. Hope this helps!

your air piston is seized,go to a parts store and get a bottle of "AIR-TOOL" Lube pour into air-line in the tool, put air in and excercise the trigger and make sure it works again, and also drain your air tanks too!!!
