Replacing that motor is a very difficult process to get correct. It’s not just a swap out. You should absolutely have a professional do it.

2) Try to measure the ESR from Capacitor and replace it.
3) If you system as LIMIT Switch , test for continuity with DMM for faulty and replace, or some wires loose or disconnect.
4) If you system are Relais see if the relais for UP and down, and working most of them has LED that will be LIT indicating working or NOT
5) If NOT voltage Vca are NOT, coming from The Controller Board Motor, REPLACE IT,

SOURCE: Hi! i have a life fitness 9500HR treadmill and it

Unplug the treadmill . Remove front cover. On the right hand side if you are facing the front - in the siderail is a white switch that tells the treadmill it is all the way down. Check that it is in place and clean.
If you plug the treadmill in.{Do not touch any thing in the motor compartment} When you press start it should go all the way down [home] to contact the switch. You can also see the lit motor turn at this time before the belt will move it must be all the way down.

Because you are hearing the lift motor making a noise, it sounds like the gears in the motor are bad. The fix is to replace the lift motor.

Horizon Elite 5.3 treadmill blows JP2 fuse. Incline does not work, all other functions work even with fuse blown. Does not blow if I disconnect incline motor.

Great work! Another great point for treadmill servicers! Please be aware....inside a treadmill lift motor, there is a small potentiometer or pot, that watches the "throw" or position of the lift screw, which relates to the treadmill incline. These lift motors have a sheath or "nut" on the screw that MUST be set properly at the ZERO degree mark of the deck, for proper operation from zero elevation to 12% or whatever it's uppermost incline is. This must be assembled correctly, or like in this case, that motor begins to "pinch" at one end of it's "throw" and the current will rise in the winding and blow a fuse, saving the lift from burning up. Nice job troubleshooting Thad!

We have Lifefitness 9500HR Treadmill. I am getting a Bad Controller Error. We have two 9500HR models. I swapped out Controller, with working 9500HR and still get Error. Keeps going into Notify Maintenance....

I would suggest swapping the consoles to see if the problem follows. If this does not help you figure it out, you are more than likely looking at a wiring issue.

Step one: remove the screws to calibrate allens belt in the opposite direction clockwise allens wrench 5 / 16 "
Step two: remove the screws above the deck allens wrench 5 / 32 "
Step three: with a flat screwdriver to lift the lever of the Idler belt and remove the drive belt motor pulley. be careful
Step four: remove the rollers carefully.
Step five: Remove the deck
Step Six: Remove the philips screw that holds the spray nozzle
Step seven: now carefully remove the belt.
to install belt now repeat these steps from back to front Once installed you must calibrate or belt slack to avoid turning the screws slide the meaning allens counterclockwise you can start with a speed 1.5Mph and increasing to 4.5Mph any questions send me an E-mail to cardiotech_me@hotmail.com

Get back into System test hit enter it will automatically to a check once completed. Then go to Lift motor module Go to manual incline and go to maximum incline then to 0 incline then get out of system test unplug unit for about 30 seconds. Then plug unit in if this does not work the limit or home switch may be the culprit

Freemotion treadmill incline not going all the way

The problem is either in the lower control board or the lift motor. I would start by replacing the lift motor. Then if that does not fix it, replace the lower control board.
