Need some troubleshooting tips on a fireplace. I've got the pilot on but when I flip the wall switch nothing happens.

Most of these unit are controlled with a millivolt signal that is generated from the thermopile.
We see this often at the beginning of the year.
Remove the wires from you wall switch and clean them so you have new metal showing and tighten them back to the wall switch.

With your gas valve in the on position try the switch.

If this doe not work do the same thing to the wires on the gas valve where they hook to the TP/TH connecting and the Th connection.
More information can be found at www.allpartsinc.com

Cozy gas wall heater won't ignite, pilot light is on

There are two types of igniters, spark-type or glow heater. The glow heaters wear out and crack or break and the spark-type spark gap gets fouled or dirty. Both could have electronics problems that drive the glow heater or spark systems. The Filtrete thermostat is not the issue. While rapping the unit makes the glow igniter come back together to glow again.

When installing this heater in the wall ,how close can any insulation be to the heater ?

If you're talking about fiberglass insulation in the walls, you should be able to just have it right up against the heater. If you have the heater instructions, check on "clearances" page and make sure from the manufacturer how close combustibles are supposed to be to the unit. These units don't get real hot, so they are generally not dangerous.

Connect my 24 milivolt gas (between the studs) wall furnace ( in my hall) to my thermostat that operates my electric heat central unit. problem: to sync both units to give home more balance ( hall is...

the first problem is you need a milli-volt t-stat and your central has a 24volt t-stat if you connect the 2 it will fry the controlls in the wall heater the second problem is t-stat location if the wall heater is near the central heats t-stat it will shut off the central to soon . maybe relocate wall unit to coldest room ?

Hi - I have an old Glen Dimplex CLX (I think is the name) wall heater. The switch for turning on the heater broke 2 days ago. It sounded like a fuse blew. How on earth can I get this fixed?!

Hi,

You say the heater is 'old', so I assume that it's out of its 2 year warranty? Are you referring to the wall-switch or the switch on the heater itself?

The customer service department will be able to give you guidance on finding the problem and resolving it. If you call 0845 600 5111 and have your series number (top left of the unit) and model (CXL) to hand they will be able to help you.

P.S. Please don't try to take the heater apart or remove it from the wall unless you have experience in working on storage heaters, as the unit is VERY heavy!

Fan heather not work

If you have the model number of the unit ( a series of Letters with a few numbers in it). You can go to www.desatech.com and find the manual for the unit under "Wall Heaters." In the manuals there are usually troubleshooting guides. Hope this helps!

I am looking to install a 4000W wall heater. The wall facing is wood panel. Are their any issues to be concerned with? Please email me at mp4569@optonline.net. Many Thanks

Read the instruction manual that ships with the unit for clearences from combustionalbles. Usually the engineers design the unit to be mounted with a half inch gap around the internal frame but the outer cover may touch the surrounding paneling. it is best to check the installation guide. The unit return or suppy air may not be blocked or impeaded in any way.
