SOURCE: MH 18 B wont stay lit

sounds like you have a limit safety issue, the unit is over heating and kicking out on high limit, or the limit is weak, either way you should look into replacing the limit, hope that helps

SOURCE: Hayward H400 heater problem

depending on your model- you may have to reset it after fixing it. I backwashed mine, had the same LO error code. I pushed "mode" through all the cycles (spa, pool, etc. then back to pool) and it started right up. (I hadn't noticed it but it told me to on the heater below where it told me the various error codes...referred to it as "lock out"). Saved a service call.

This is a code for what is called a prover switch. What it is a circut for the air pressures. Depending on model you can have one or two of these. Their will always be one for the exaust perssure and this will often be the culpret. If the sensor is good a sooted exchanger, rat nests on the exchanger or in the exaust can cause this. If you have a second switch it will be for burner air pressure and you will look for the same problems only inside the burner cabnet. Good luck, I'm sorry I can't be more help. But at least you know to look to the vent system.

"IF" - Hayward Pool Heater Fails to Ignite: the most common reason for this problem is insufficient gas supply. The Hayward heater LED display will show a diagnostic fault code of "IF" which stands for Ignition Failure. Undetected gas pressure problems if not investigated properly may result in unnecessary replacement and servicing of your Hayward Pool Heater.

already answered your earlier post. the code LO signifies that there isnt enough water flow to allow the heater to run. as for the temp, i wouldnt worry about the display. it will never exceed factory setting. sounds like a stuck button

H400ed2 IF

(IF- Ignition Failure) It may be your flame sensor failing to recognize that the heater has fired. This will tell the gas valve to close if it does not detect a flame.

My hayward h400ed2 heater starts for 2-3 seconds then shuts down showing error IF. I checked the gas orifices - they all clean. Heater was working fine fo the most of the summer then started showing IF...

Have you installed anything in your home that uses gas? Alot of times it due to low gas pressure.

When you checked the orfices did you actually remove them? or just stick a paperclip inside and clean them?

If the heater is firing ..even for 2-3 seconds the ignightor is fine. If it wasnt it wouldnt lite, period... bad call on hayward
