  • 2928 Jun 17, 2008

I've got the instructions but they are not the most helpfull i've come across! the trouble is that when you press the src you don't get aux input only tuner and standby... I've got an aux cable and an ipod nano plugged in.... unless the cable is worng!

instructions say set built in axiliary input function... but it looks like you should be able to see aux off, aux on1 or aux on2!?

  • 2928 Jun 21, 2008

Think I've just about got it.... It's still in demo mode so need to stop that... then if i press menu for 1 sec and scroll through options i get a aux off that i can switch on and it works..... te pain at the moment is that everytime i switch off the demo thing comes on and i have to set up again.... The sound is brill.....but the instructions are bad... but hopefully ill get there soon... Thanks for your help....

Yes i think it's poor instructions.... a friend is going to come round and see if they can figure it out.... if so i'll let you knnow what we had to do.... what a shame clearly a good product but needs to be made more user friendly!!!

cant get aux to work when i-pod plugged in - i have tried every part of src button & gone through every combination on menu - sounds like a typical design fault that is being ignored - no wonder they replaced this model very quickly

check the model number of your radio, I don't think it is correct.

Kenwood has no information on kdcw3537

I've had the same problem myself but just fixed, firstly you take your instuction manual to a well ventilated area and set fire to it.Second you put your stereo in stand-by,then press and hold the menu button, and beep on or off will be displayed.Third you move the control stick situated on the right up or down until aux is displayed then just move stick left or right and it will show ...aux off...aux 1...aux 2.Choose aux 1 and away you go

I am having the same problem. So i would guess a design fault rather than a malfuction. Unless someone knows what were doing wrong.

Bottom right corner of the radio is a button that has "src" on it. That is the source button. The aux input may not come up unless you have a device connected to the aux input. After connecting a device to the aux input try pressing the "src" button a few times to select that source. You should go thru all the different sources for your radio.
If you have the box, you may also have the users manual in the box. If so, it should explain how to use the aux input.
kenwood still has no service information on this radio, it may be a new model they have not yet put on the service website. I work at an authorized kenwood service center and have not yet seen this model.
If what I have wrote above does not help, please leave a little more info about what you have done to try and use it, what you have connected to it, ect. Too much information is always better than too little.

sorry for the trouble you are having, it sounds like the radio is just not sensing anything being input. You have done all that any end user can do. it is most likely an electrical problem on the main board of the radio. if it is still under warranty I would take it back to be repaired. if it is not under warranty, you must decide if the repair is worth the time and trouble and cost. Most shops have an estimate charge, some even offer free estimates. With the cost of car stereos getting so low, sometimes it just doesn't make much sense to get one fixed, unless there is some sentimental value or you just really like that particular piece of equipment.

    Good luck with it.

Kenwood Kdc-mp425 will not switch to Aux. Aux cable is connected to the back of the headunit, but no aux option is available on menu for either my ipod touch or my sirius unit. I've accessed the menu from...

Apparently, this auxiliary input only works for a Kenwood CD changer or a sirius radio connection. At least that is my conclusion after finding the same problem. Let me know if you figured anything out on this.

Change mode to Standby and then scroll through until you find the AUX and click the right hand knob to the right to enable the Aux Mode. Then simply change mode to Aux

How can i connect my ipod to my kenwood kdc-mp7028???

If you dont have an MP3 or Ipod input, then the best way is to buy an FM transmitter. This device plugs into your cigarette lighter and when connected to the Ipod will transmit the signal to the stereo unit. this device is actually like a micro radio station that you have to tune in on the Kenwood. These units are available at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, or online at Ebay, and Amazon.

Cant seem to get the aux up on my kenwood kdc-237 tried from src button but to no avail can anybody advise please

Its becuase the aux is turned off as default so you have to activate it.
Put the unit into standby mode
Press menu for at least a second untill menu appears and then select the aux option and edit it to either aux on1 or aux on2 or aux off.
Anyproblems and you can download the pdf for free from internet

Try putting the unit in standby via the "SRC" button FIRST..., then press the menu button and cycle through to the "AUX 1" option and activate this....then press menu button again. When the unit is next switched on, you should have an "AUX" option accessible via the "SRC" button which will cycle through all of the availale modes ....standby-tuner-cd-aux etc etc.
