When you upgraded to Internet Explorer 9, it made a backup of Internet Explorer 8 and replaced it. If you are running windows xp you would have had the Beta release of IE 9, as the full blown release will not run on xp. It was designed only for Vista or Windows 7.
In order to get IE 8 back, you will need to go to Start > Control Panel and look for the option to Uninstall or Change Programs or the Icon for Programs and Features if in icon view. Once the list of programs loads, look for Internet Explorer 9 and then highlight it and click Uninstall at the top of the screen. It will remove the new version and replace it with your previous version. You will need to reboot the machine when it is finished.
Once back up and running you should have IE 8 back in place and fully functional.
Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Add/Remove Programs
Click Show Updates
Select IE8
Click uninstall
This should "restore" your previous version of IE (6? 7?)
Or, if you're running Vista or 7, see: http://www.microsoft.com/ie9
and install "Internet Explorer 9 beta", i.e., a "pre-release" version of the _next_ version of IE.
Windows Internet Explorer 9 has been installed as a system update in the operating system, and as such can be removed from the Uninstall an update control panel menu. To get there click the start orb in the lower left corner of the screen, and then Control Panel in the right menu. Locate Uninstall a program in the Control Panel and click on the entry. To uninstall Internet Explorer 9 click the View Installed Updates link in the upper left corner of the screen. This opens a listing of Microsoft updates that have been installed on the computer system. Right-click on Windows Internet Explorer 9 and select uninstall from the context menu. To complete the uninstallation, the computer needs to be restarted in the end. After restart ur pc Run reginout cleaner to clean it's registry files
To delete the Internet Explorer 9 beta version, Open Control panel and open Programs and features. In the list you will find Internet Explorer 9 of Microsoft Internet Explorer 9. Click on it and click Uninstall button.
Call it downgrade or restore or uninstalling , If you are having trouble with IE 9 beta which is breaking your add-ons or accelerators, below is the step on how you can uninstall IE 9. ( Check out the Feature list ) and roll back to previous version of IE 8 or IE 7 you had.
Click on Start Button and type in Programs and Features in the search box > Click View installed updates. Since this is Beta it gets installed as Updates and hence is not in uninstall list. and then click View installed updates.
Search for Windows Internet Explorer 9 When found right-click > Uninstall, Click yes when asked. You will need to reboot your computer to complete un-installation This will bring back the older version with everything right in place.
If you installed IE9 beta over IE8 you can roll back to IE8 from Add or remove programs in control pannel. Is better to choose a stable version of any program, not Beta because beta is in teste mode and is not certified that is working with any software and addons.
