Component inputs not working on hitachi ultrascan tv

There have been some resets for Hitachi sets for several years, from using a jumper wire to touch two terminals with set on to ones in hidden Tech menu. If one I did not know I would use the model number to Google several sites looking for a reset---one some years ago brand new and just delivered had two inputs with nothing and a third with no sound--reset cured it and lots of other sets have a hard reset putting all settings back to factory.

Get the model number and search and do not forget to look on the Hitachi site as well.

I came home to find NO VOLUME on the tv now. Everything else seems ok

I will presume a few things:

1. you have tried it via the coax or cable fittings and also rear audio and video inputs.

2. speakers (in the menu) are not turned off.

3. if you are using a cable or sat box you have hooked something direct to the set for sound.

If this is a 2001 or 2002 model there may be another issue.

confirm the date of production and I may be able to tell you exactly what is wrong (date is on back of set).

Are you using the rf antenna input for TV or 1 of the VIDEO inputs from a cable box or sat receiver. If the latter check to see if you unplugged the audio fron the box White and red wires from box. If thats ok Plug that dvd player into that input using the cabes from the dvd player .If you now have sound change ables from box. if still no sound cable box bad. If still no sound from that input check for solder connection on input jacks. If antenna input is used replace the tunner intv.

TV picture and sound goes off--leaving a blinking green light showing as on (power). Several times in the last week I have shut the power strip off and then on again and the TV went back on with the solid...

If TV goes off and the led stays blinking, that is because the TV is going on protection.
Protection is a special diagnostic mode that starts when an internal fault has been detected.
If this happens erratically while you are watching TV, then parts that can commonly cause the problem are PSU board, main board or digital board, ballast board and converge board on DLP, inverter on LCD, low buffer and sustain boards on plasma.

I have a Panasonic tv model TH 42PZ80B; a Panasinic Blu-Ray dvd model DMP-BD50; a sky box (not as yet HD) and a Sony video SLV-SE 830G. I have a Satellite dish and a normal TV aerial. In the loft I have a...

You need to try and isolate the piece of equipment which is causing the problem.

You've already tried the aerial lead direct to the TV and this is OK.

Disconnect all scart leads and try the RF on its own.

Try the Aerial lead to video, then video to TV.

Try aerial direct to Sky box, then to TV.

Try just connecting the RF out from the Sky box to the TV (no aerial input), can you tune into a good channel 68 picture from the Sky box.

Then Try the VCR to the Sky box (no aerial input), see if you can tune into the VCR and Sky channel.
Hope that helps.......

Yamaha DSPAX761 no s-video to HDMI

S-Video and Composite are analogue and HDMI is digital. Your receiver dose not have the capability to convert from analogue to digital and hence you are not not getting any video.

This is a fault definately. I have run into this with Samsung plasma tv's and find if you do some electrical adjustments you can usually remedy the situation. Sometimes though, it is the panel going bad or a board. Do u have any pictures i can see? Also keep in mind that if you have a DVM you can make the adjustments yourself. Good luck...GURU JAY
