Question about Acer AL2216W LCD Monitor
I am running Vista, with a nvidia 8800 card. As of 15 minutes ago both of my displays (an Acer AL2216w and a LG L1710S) were working perfectly, with the Acer is my primary screen and LG as my secondary. I switched from dual display to single display (with Acer as primary still), as I have done many times before without any problem. The visible resolution decreased, even though according to the settings it was at the usual resolution. After restarting the computer, the screen doesn't turn on at all. My LG screen is still working fine, but when I try to either clone screen or dual view nothing at all happens, and the LG remains the primary and only display.

Hi. This evening, I had the exactly the same symptom. I found a way to fix it.
When you power up the screen, keep the power and auto buttons both pressed. That seems to reset the screen. After that when you open the menu, a small F appears on the left side of the contrast icon. Go to that red F with the arrows and press menu. Another menu will popup. Choose 'Burnin' and set it to off. That's all !
Note: do not try to change other settings, they depends of the harware...

SOURCE: same problem, acer sucks imo
Similar problem with Acer AL2216W - sometimes DVI input don't work properly (but analog in works well in the same time) and I have blackness on panel - I just need to change resolution on my ATI video card for a moment and return to native 1680x1050 (resetting of the monitor?) and things go right. This is my 1st and last time when I bought Acer product. I just opened up and replaced few bulging capacitors (CapXon - known cheap ****) and I will never buy Acer again!!! It's simply ****!
