Question about Panasonic Televison & Video

Open Question

My TV keeps turning on at 3 am each morning and I'm not sure why. I typically watch TV every night up until around 10 and turn the unit off with the remote to go to bed. Unfortunately, it keeps turning on and waking me up. The only way to prevent it thus far is to get up and disconnect the electrical plug. However, this is getting annoying. I know it's not the cable box as I've switched the cable boxes and the problem continues to persist. In addition, I've tried to scan through the menu, but can't find any button/option to reset the overall metrics of the unit or even one that automatically turns the TV on. Any thoughts?

6 blinks is a horizontal sweep problem (I think). If the problem did not show up at the shop, I'd suspect bad connections that the move "corrected" for the short term. If you can solder, resolder any joints that appear grainy or have rings. Pay particular attention to the area close to the flyback transformer (part with large red wire coming out the top). Report back here with your results.

New lamp worked for 2 weeks, last night would not turn in so removed lamp thinking it was burnt to send back under warranty. Lamp appeared fine so reinserted and tv surprisinly turned on. this morning...

Edwin, sounds like you might be having a problem with your Ballast. The Ballast is what fires up lamp. Typically if this is an older unit, when you replace the bulb, you will have to replace your ballast as well. It is harder to fire up a new bulb, then it is to fire up an old bulb. That's why you wouldn't notice the problem until you changed your bulb.

I awoke this morning to find the sound on my Apex Digital LD4088 LCD tv is dead. The picture is fine, but sound is dead, how do I solve this?

Download the user manual to your TV. Clik here to download it. See whether audio options to it are set right. If all are right, check its speaker. If speaker is OK, the audio output circuit section should be troubleshooted.
If you feel any difficulty in downloading the manual, send your email address to me. I'll send a copy of it to you by return mail.

Tv wont turn on< red power light just keeps blinking?

I have the same thing. Just started blinking 10 times. Pretty much had to unplug the unit over night. Could never turn it off and then turn it on again.
This worked for about a week. This morning, tried to turn it on after being unplugged. Still blinks.
Called Panasonic. they attempted a couple solutions, nothing. Suggested authorized repair shop.

Last night the tv was fine i turned it on this

Unplug 20 minutes. Make sure there is adequate ventilation around the set.

Try with the original manufacturer remote to view setup menu.

Power outages come at night. This sometimes resets the TV and other devices. .

It is most deffinately a convergence chip issue. The die for no reason. They can be bought online for around $10 dollars and anyone with experience with soldering can replace them pretty easily. I have done it.
