Question about Kenwood Blenders

Open Question

I have a model A.989 or 990 blender that goes on a Kenwood mixer/kitchen machine. I have had it apart, because it leaves a black residue in the bottom, which comes from the aluminum cap covering the nylon connection to the mixer, when it rubs against the bearing/bushing. It still has the problem and I wonder whether there is a manual that describes (exploded view) how the various parts go together. There is a phenolic washer that is on the top right under the knives, and I wonder whether that really should go on the bottom.

How to repair tefal 8143 dough mixer

You could try asking this in the Tefal part of this forum instead of the Kitchen Aid area as folks who know Tefal may not be browsing this area. You could also be a little more specific about exactly what the fault is that needs repairing.

Leaking kitchen aid blender

Make sure that the big black nut under the jar is tight. It holds the blade and bearing assembly into the beaker. The odd one can leave the factory not properly tightened up and vibration loosens it off. Nobody is telling you it will be easy to tighten that nut up because it isn't.

I have a bamix M200 hand blender & the shaft does not turn although the motor is working can you help?

After a period of time food residue will migrate up through the seal on the "foot" and lodge in the shaft. Once this is gummer up the motor will go but the shaft will not be able to rotate.

The machine will need to be disassembled and the shaft cleaned out. I recommend that you find your local Bamix Service Centre to do this as there are fragile parts in the stick mixer.

Oil Leak-Stand mixer

Leaking of oil in a stand mixer is not necessarily indicative of a large problem.

Kitchenaid stand mixers are overpacked with oil to last the lifetime of the motor. If the motor sits idle for some time (is not used), the oil may begin to drip from the gears and settle. Oil leakage may primarily be seen from around the beater shaft or planetary action.

A stand mixer can lose up to a 1/4 cup of oil before it needs to be serviced.

It is recommended to run the mixer on speed 10 for 2 minutes in order to redistribute oil back into the motor. In order to prevent future occurences, this is recommended to be done every 3 weeks if mixer is not being used.
