Sony KP-53XBR35

I have a Sony KP-53XBR35 TV but I do not have either a remote nor a Owners/Service manual.
My grandson said that he tried to change the volume by using the button on the front of the TV, but te TV picture is now blank.
The Timer/Standby LED is flashing constantly at about a one second interval. This has been going on for over a week now.
I've tried unplugging it, even overnight, but when I power it back up, it continues the one second flashing.
Is there a way to reset this without the remote?
Is there a place to get a remote?
Is there a service/owner's manual available?
