My little sister just got the Sylvania netbook. We had the same problem, then I found the directions. I don't know if it's the same netbook... but on this one you press fn+f9 at the same time (may have to press and hold). Then a little computer looking icon will pop up on the bottom right of the windows screen. Double click on that and then wireless connections tab. You should then see your available wifi connections. If you have a key to put in, it will then ask for it... then hit 'connect'
Hope this helps

Everytime i try to connect to the internet it says This webpage is not available

You need to confirm you are actually connected to the internet next. In the Wifi menu that you get to by double clicking the "pc" on the task bar you will see 3 tabs. If the first tab does not have all the IP, sub-net and default gateway filled in with legal numbers then you are not connected. Furthermore if you have an "IP Address:" that starts with then you are not connected to the internet.

If your Wifi setup includes a security phrase then under the wireless information tab it will take the following steps: "associating with.....", then "authenticating with...." then "connected to...."

The easiest way to tell if the problem is within a Sylvania Netbook running Win CE 6 is to take it to a McDonalds or other non-secure wifi location and see if it connects.

If it connects there but doesn't connect at "home" then your problem is between the netbook and your home setup not purely a Wifi not working issue.

There is a Wifi driver update available at the website as well as the Sylvania Netbook Yahoo group. There are some additional troubleshooting steps at the Yahoo group.

Cannot connect to the enternet

Assuming this is a Sylvania Netbook running Win CE 6 you might try hooking up to Wifi at a different location than where it is not working. Specifically pick a non-secure location like McDonald's or your local public library or another restaurant.

You normally have to double left click the "pc" on the task bar and go to the 3rd tab to configure your connection(s).

The first tab will tell you if you have made a connection by displaying the address information. If the menu box is not filled out or offers an IP Address that starts with then you certainly have not connected to the Internet via your Wifi connection.

Your startup guide as well as the website has a straight forward guide for connecting via Wifi if everything is working ok. They also have some YouTube videos listed there. Last resort is locate the Yahoo group on this subject.

What do i need to use my netbook wi fi, i also heard that you can use a wi fi phone with it

You will need a Wifi access point to connect your Sylvania Netbook using Win CE 6 to the internet. Some cellphones can act as "Wifi access points" but most cellphone network vendors will want you to pay $10USD a month to use that feature.

Free Wifi access points include McDonalds, your local public library, your church and other resturants. I have also found that all major interstate rest areas in IOWA have free wifi.

There are several lists of Free Wifi hotspots on the internet. I like this community effort listing:

The SN comes with a short wifi guide and there is a video as well as a step-by-step Wifi guide at

I am trying to connect to my virgin mobile internet via the virgin mobile flash drive, the netbook isn't even picking up that I have the flash drive plugged into the computer.

If this is a Sylvania Netbook running Win CE 6 it is possible that the operating system simply doesn't have a driver for Virgin Mobile cellphone.

The only way I have been able to connect to the internet is via Wifi or a LAN cable plugged into the back. I doubt you will get any other method to work.

Please note the Wifi can be via a Wifi access point on your cellphone, a portable, mobile hotspot that connects via a USB modem or any other functional Wifi access point.

My daugther has a sylvania netbook and I cannot get her usb to read her removabale cd drive? please help

If youare referring to the Sylvania SYNET07526 using Win CE 6, then a CD player is not recognized by the operating system, so you can not add this to that machine. It does recognize memory devices such as thumb drives and USB drives of most sizes that can be used to store anything you download. The application Media Player can play some files from the internet. that is just about all it can do.

I would like to know if you can use MAGIC JACK with this netbook?

Is this the Win CE Netbook? If it is, the answer appears to be no. The 7" Win CE book apparently will not install 3rd party applications. It will accept a Wifi driver update I downloaded from digitalgadgets tech support though.
