Question about Biostar M6TWG (M6TWG-V1.2) Motherboard

1 Answer

I have a problem with my fujitsu computer. The bios battery was out, the harddrive and cd didn't work. I put in a new Battery, HD and CD and installed win 98 se. Then I found out that neither the floppy or USB port works. The control panel says that my floppy is 5.25, but it's not. How do I update when neither USB or floppy works and no lan or wlan card is installed?

Hello user!

Back up your data and format again your computer but this time navigate to cmos setting by pressing del or F2 and select the optimal default setting and press F10 enter. Begin installing your O.S.

I hope it helps

Thanks

Bad Locksum BIOS CD_Rom not found when I try to

it's not locksum ,its Check SUM or CRC errors.
what OP, are you running,? windows what. i guess.

the CMOS battery just died.
install a new one.
all puters this old do that, the battery is good for 7-10 years,
and all fail.
DO NOT FLASH your BIOS, fix the real problem first

when the battery dies, all our bios setting were lost
including boot device, and order
fix battery
then go into BIOS and put back boot order.

NEED HARD DRIVE PASSWORD

Remove a small coin sized CMOS battery to store all BIOS settings along with the password. To reset the password, unplug the PC, open the cabinet and remove the CMOS battery for approx. 15-30 minutes and then put it back. It'll reset all BIOS settings as well as the password and you'll need to re-enter all settings.

Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop - If you are working on a laptop computerthe location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment.

If it fails, then try to remove the battery for at least one hour.

You need to prepare:
1:A blank CD/DVD or USB flash drive
2.A computer which can link to internet
3.A program called Windows Password Recovery 6.0

Get started with this 3 simple steps:
Website: http://lost-password.net/products/windowspasswordrecoery.html
Step 1 - Download windows password recovery utility and install it.
Step 2 -Burn your Windows Password Reset CD:
To burn your CD, you'll need a blank CD-R and the .ISO file of Windows Password Reset.
Step 3 - Put in your newly created CD and remove your Windows password.

hope it helps.

Dominic,
Do you have a windows CD?
If you do, put it in. Reboot
While rebooting F12 or F10 or F2 to get in the bios
Once in the bios, goto boot sequence.. Make CD #1
Make harddrive Last
Reboot.
Windows cd should boot up and load files, then it will show you where you want to load the windows.
If you see your C: drive, hit enter, and the computer will say operating system already exist,do you want overwite, format,or save.
Do a format, You will lose all on your HD
format.
It may ask quick format, Thorough Format, Take the Thorough
Depending on you size this will take15-20 min. Keep your eye on the system.. if windows finds faulty hd it will tell you..
Relace hd and start at the begining of this note
With a new hd. windows will book up in about 45-60 mins
If you have access to a computer, ask google about step by step window installation, print it and do it

To remove that password there are few steeps:

0. remove AC power
1. remove system battery (primary and multibay if present)
2. remove harddrive from harddrive bay
3. remove Multibay Devices from multibay
4. remove small round battery pill 3.3V, located under a cover on left side of touchpad. Remove cover gently (is no need to remove keyboard, but cover is removable with some power...) Delicate unplug small conector with cables leading to battery,
5. wait 5 minutes
6. connect AC power
7. Turn on computer unit (BIOS gets a few errors = date, time, mismatch etc. no need to panic, if everything is ok then get into computer setup pressing F10, change existing setup values as needed, if ok power down computer.
8. unplug AC power
9. Plug small battery into motherboard
10. install Hdd and multibay devices
11. Install system batteries
12. Power Up computer, there could be no password anymore

My hp zd8000 is not rebooting and been told i need a new motherboard

Before you start thinking about your motherboard, let's rule out your harddrive.

Go online and Google "emergency boot cd" and choose a product that works for you. Many have "demos" you can use with limited capability, but that's fine. You will need to take the .iso file and burn a CD with it. This will create a bootable CD.

You will need to setup the computer to boot from a CD by going into BIOS and setting the boot sequence to CD first. If you don't know how to do that, here's a good article...
http://www.cites.illinois.edu/security/antivirus/bios.html

Using your newly created CD, put it into CD drive and start boot up. If your computer boots normally, you have a harddrive tht has failed. If not, you may have a motherboard issue, or possibly a different hardware issue that may require professional assistance.

BIOS stops booting with two CD checks

1. Chek whether the time and date is correct
2. If No, change BIOS Battery, if Yes, No need to change the Battery
3. Install the latest Version BIOS (if the existing is the L8st, then reinstall)
4. Selct "Load Optimal Default" in BIOS and try to boot

Stuck at IBM Thinkpad Splash Screen

Sound like a memory chip has failed. Try removing the memory, I believe these have on board, but not sure. If it doesn't have on board, you will need at least one chip in. If the problem is still there, try removing the CD drive, occasionally they can cause a no start. If it's not the memory or the CD drive, then try a bios flash. You will need to create a bootable disc from IBM's support site using a different machine (obviously).
If the bios flash doesn't fix it, them the problem will lie with the motherboard.
