Hi,thank you for replying however my AVG has scanned and infact i did have a virus problem previously as my windows kept closing down ,and the corrupt file(s) were removed/fixed.I also recently purchased a brand new keyboard and mouse ,therefore this can,t be the problem either?

I had a pc repair man call out to fix my pc as it wasn,t booting a few weeks ago and he replaced various parts etc and since this ,my copy and paste has ceased to operate? Many thanks again for any advice ,Mandy

A virus will not have anything to do with copy and paste. (i know, i make them) but it will make problems with other things, but since copy and paste is the problem, then the virus is not causing it. what you need to do is go to start>settings>control panel>keyboard. sometimes your problem is caused by a setting in the keyboard area getting turned off by a computer crash, unsafe shutdown, etc. if there is nothing under this category that sticks out to you, then try the "system" icon under the control panel. look for a copy and paste tab and look to see if it is unchecked. if none of this helps, let me know

Maybe your computer have some virus, that would interrupt some movements. If it is not the virus, try to replaced your keyboard and also the mouse.

Right click on whatever you want to copy. Push copy. If you want the whole page, highlight it, if only a portion, then highlight that. After you push copy, go to where you want to paste it, then right click and push paste. This will put it where you want it.

Whatever it is that you need to copy, just highlight it, right click, and copy. Or just highlight it, and press ctrl. c, this means copy. To paste, same thing, right click where you want to paste, and click paste, or left click where you want to paste and press ctrl. v. This will paste it.

Copy paste function does not work

Copy and Paste has to work. Maybe you are doing something wrong.

For example if you copy three rows of excel data then when you get ready to paste it you must select and highlight three rows to paste it.

There are other ways to copy and paste something tool For example highlight what you want to copy then put the mouse pointer on it and do a Right Click and select copy. You can also Right Click Where you want to paste it.

Also you can highlight what you want to copy then Press and Hold the CTRL then hit the letter C key. When you want to paste it you can simply put the mouse where you want it to go, then Press and Hold the CTRL key then hit the letter V key.

Of course there are the way most people know which is to hit File/Edit/Copy at the top of the window or File/Edit/Paste.
