Excel workbook error

I came across this issue today. An update to the Office Compatibility Pack that was still on a computer caused the default PROGRAM for .docx and .xlsx files to be the Microsoft Open XML Converter program and make the "Default Programs" in Control Panel think that Excel and Word were actually the Microsoft Open XML Converter scholarship essay writing assistance program as well.UNINSTALLING the Office Compatibility Pack in Programs and Features and then a simple reboot fixed the issue.
Also:
1: Try to repair it manually when MS Excel does not automatically STARTS File recovery mode.
Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click OPEN.
Now select the corrupted workbook that you want to open.
Click the arrow NEXT to the Open button, and then click Open and Repair.
Choose either Repair (to recover as much of the FILE data) or Extract data (to extract values and formula when repair process is not successful).
2: Open with Open Office: Try to open your Excel file in Open Office. It is an open-source Office suite that is able to open & SAVE Microsoft Excel files.

How To Save A Workbook In Another File Format?
Most of the time, users prefer to save the workbook in the current file format as a.xlsx extension. But often, it's the case where you may need to save a workbook in other file formats, such as the file format of an earlier version of Excel, a text file, or a PDF or XPS file. MS Office technical support experts have suggested users that while saving their workbook in another file format, they need to follow few of its formatting, data, and other essentials features which may not be saved well. For a list of various file formats, also known as various file types, one can easily open or save in Excel 2013

Steps to save a workbook in another file format
Step1: Accessing the workbook
·Open and get access to the workbook which you wish to save.
Step2: One DRIVE option
·Under the 'Places' section, simply pick up the place where you wish to save the workbook. For example, if you choose the "OneDrive" to save it to the Web location or in the Computer to save it in a local folder, you can save it as your Documents.
Step3: Save As dialogue box
·In the "Save As' dialog box, one is required to navigate to the location according to their choices.
Step 4: Working with the file formats
·In the Save as type list, just click on the file format which you wish to save and then click the arrows to easily scroll to the file formats that aren't yet visible in the list as suggested by MS Office tech support team members.
A note of caution:
·The file formats that you'll see may vary, depending on what type of sheet you are actively working in your workbook (a worksheet, chart sheet, or other type of sheet).
·In the File name box, try to accept a specific suggested name or simply type a new name for your workbook.

Gudpm po im asking about how to open my open offices file again..last feb 15 i open my company pc the file has corrupted... tnx.....

If your company was using MS Office 2003 then you're using MS Office 2007. Make sure you're saving the file in a compatible format. For example, if you've create a report on excel file using MS Excel 2007 then you should save the file in .xls (compatible format) instead of .xlsx (2007 format. In that case you can open your file on both versions. Also when you're saving other office files make sure it's in compatible format.

Excel work sheets delete, pls how is it restore

Easiest way would be to use the Undo function to work your way back to the point prior to deleting the worksheets. If you can't back up through the list that far, you could close the file WITHOUT SAVING IT, then reopen the original file again. If you have already saved the document after deleting the worksheets, you will have to restore it from a backup (you do perform backups, right?) and continue working fro there.
