Hi the wand release button is located directly above the the Cylinder release button. The wand release button looks like the picture below. In order to releease the wand you must firstly make sure the Electrical cable is not wrapped up for storage. So unwrap the electrical cable. then find the item as in the picture. Press this button in and at the same time lift the wand. This will realease the wand from the spine of the Dyson. This is embarassing, but I have just looked at the - dumfriesdon.jpg

Dyson dc07 keeps cutting out after few minutes

This is a sure sign of a blockage. The motor cuts out because it gets too hot and will start again when it has cooled. Follow the instructions in your user manual for clearing blockages (you can download a copy from the Dyson website if necessary). Make sure the washable filter is clean too (and completely dry before you use it).

How do i replace a broken belt on a dc07?

the vacuum must be completely torn apart to replace the belt/clutch assembly. be very careful as the parts will break easily
the assy you need runs around $60 or more at a vac repair shop
i have been in the repair business for 20 years, and the dyson is about the worst one out there
get yourself a Panasonic or a sanitair
