When opening the shutter no image comes up on the LCD screen. The date, remaining image details are still showing however. If a picture is taken, it comes up as a light green screen.

sir,
digital cameras have an image sensor called CCD or C-mos if the camera picture is having problems with color this part may be faulty.
the picture previously taken (before this fault happened) must be fair, if it also bad then there may be problem with LCD or the main board.

My canon PowerShot SD750 digital camera screen suddenly turn black(dark ), I can not take picture because there is no image shown on screen. I still can record sound on video, but no image. what is going...

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help. Pay particular attention to Fix #5A.

Canon A620 is taking black images/ Can't see images on screen

First try pressing the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. If that didn't fix it... A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. Camera works but the screen went black A640 except for video and color swap. Did I press a button? I was shooting in cold weather.

Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

But if you've already tried this, have you also tried downloading any of your photos taken with the black screen to your computer? Are the photos also black? If so, you might instead be experieincing a stuck shutter (possibly due to the cold weather).

Black screen

Simply right click on the track itself and select send to/DVD-RW or CR-RW depending on the type Compact disc drive you have. Then you will see a notification, "you files to be written to CD." Simply click on it or go to your Compact disc drive on My Computer and click “write these files to CD.” Then follow the screen instructions. IT is that simple. All you need to do is press and release the display button until the screen displays. Usually Canon Powershot cameras have 3 display modes:- colour, black & white, blank. Your camera is set to blank that is why you cannot see any image/screen displays no image. Just press and release the display button until the screen displays. That should do it.

SD550 camera not focusing correctly. Green focus square sometimes shows up, sometimes not, either way, it's not clear even on the digital screen prior to taking the shot. Camera does make a slight click...

to make the green square show up just press the shutter button until half (this is called the half press) when the green square shows up then it means that the camera has focused already, if not repeat the process til green square comes out you can press the shutter button fully to take picture when you see the green square...

Blurred Images with Olympus E520

When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.

Continuous mode

i think the frame rate is 1.3 frames per second.

Issue:
How do I set Continuous Shooting?
Solution: Setting Continuous Shooting mode PowerShot SD750 and SD1000.

Continuous Shooting In this mode, the camera shoots continuously while the shutter button is held down. Recording ceases when the shutter button is released. In addition, under the following conditions, continuous shooting can occur at a consistent interval until the SD card is full*.
  • A resolution and compression combination other than 145.gif and 129.gif is selected.
    * If continuous shooting suddenly stops, the SD card may be full.
Continuous shooting is available in all modes except 171.gif[AUTO], stitch_assist_icon.gif[Stitch Assist], coloraccentdropper.gif[Color Accent] and colorswapdropper.gif[Color Swap].
To set Continuous Shooting
  1. Press the cont_icon.gifbutton to display cont_icon.gif.

    cont_menu.gif
  2. Shoot the image.

The camera will continue to record successive images while the shutter button is fully pressed. Recording will cease when the shutter button is released, the card is full or the card does not support a write speed to allow continuous shooting to continue.
To Cancel Continuous Shooting
  1. Press the cont_icon.gif button twice to display single_icon.gif.
caution_a70.gifTo enhance the continuous shooting performance when you suspect the speed has dropped, you are recommended to format the SD card in the camera (Low Level Format) after you save all its images to your computer. note_icon_a70.gif
  • The interval between shots may lengthen slightly when the camera's built-in memory fills.
  • If the flash is firing, the interval between shots will lengthen to accommodate the flash's charging requirements.

Shutter won't open when turned on. Screen is gray & alarm sounds

It sounds as if when the camera was dropped it impacted the image processing chip inside of the camera thus why the LCD screen appears gray in color. You may want to call Olympus and discuss repair options. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3.
