I am using Microsoft ActiveSync: 4.1.0 on my home PC as well as offcie PC to synchronize files and outlook addressbook, task and appointments with my pocket PC O2 XDA Atom Exec. Earlier Active Sync was working fine but from last two months it has stopped syncing contacts. Some time it gives error code 800703fa and some time it keeps on syncing for indefinite time till we disconnect the pocket PC. Microsoft deos not give any explanation for this error code. I searched internet and as suggested there cleaned Outlook PST file using utility SCANPST.exe. I also deleted and re-created Sync partenrship. I also upgraded to Active Sync 4.5. But there is no success. Can you help ?

<p>The process of manually entering your Gmail contacts in the
address book of your Windows Mobile smartphone can be time consuming. In fact,
this process even more frustrating if you regularly move from one device to
another. Fortunately, the sync option in most smartphones, including Windows
Mobile devices, makes it easier for you to use your Gmail contacts for
different platforms. In Windows Mobile devices, this option made possible by
Google Sync. Google recommends to make sure that you back up all contacts and
calendars from your phone to your computer before continuing. <br />
<p>1. Start the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync application on
the Home screen of your Windows Mobile device. <br />
<p>2. Choose "Set your device to sync",
"m.google.com" in the "Server Address" field, select
"This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" and choose
"Next." <br />
<p>3. Enter your Gmail credentials in the "User Name"
and "Password" box, leave the "domain" box unchanged. If an
error occurs due to the abandonment of the "Domain" field is blank,
enter "Google" box. <br />
<p>4. Select "Next", select the "Contacts",
click "Finish" and then click the "Sync" softkey. You have
enabled the synchronization of your Gmail contacts on your Windows Mobile
device. <br />
In order to sync, or move files from your computer to your phone you will need to use the ActiveSync software available from Microsoft here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/ActiveSync/default.mspx If you need further assistance with how to install applications on your phone I would recomend giving a quick read through of the HTC Shadow support site found here http://www.htc.com/us/support/t-mobile-shadow/help/applications
Uninstall Active Synch then Turning off your PC unplug the power cable from the power socket, then short the leds on the PC power cable and leave it for 5min. then reconnect the Power cable to power socket and turn on the PC install activesynch and it should work.
If you are running ActiveSync 4.0 or later and personal firewall software on your personal computer, please add ActiveSync to the firewall program’s exception list.
(Firewall software, such as Sygate Personal Firewall, TrendMicro PC-cillin Internet Security 2005, Norton Personal Firewall, McAfee Personal Firewall, or Zone Alarm Security Suite may block synchronization.) Refer to the documentation that came with your firewall program to determine how to add ActiveSync 4.0 or later to the program’s exception list. To further troubleshoot a firewall application and enable ActiveSync 4.0 or later
