Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Washing machine needs to be moved manually from one function to the next. All functions are fine and laundry comes out clean. I think I need to change the timer control to make it move from one function to the next automatically. Need confirmation.

First remove the back cover on the control panel and make sure the timer motor that turns the dial is receiving 120 volts and you can hear the motor running,then if its getting power then replace the timer,if no power then you need to trace where your losing it at

Where do I put the liquid soap for the wash

Lichid soap for automatic washing machines is not indicated, since foam is produced and can be a nuisance when coming out from every seal and can perturb the function of some sensor.However, if needed, can be poured on the powder tray (100 ml) for about 5 kg of laundry or directly inside machine, on top of laundries is better. Don't forget to close the door afterwards.

Hoover 500mb washing machine doesn't 'click' through the cycles

Sounds like your timer is not working correctly. I would suggest replacing it, as there isn't a way to repurchase timers.

Frigidaire FEX831FS2 LAUNDRY CENTER-Agitator does not work, all other functions work...tub fills, spins and drains,

Can you move the agitator freely by hand? If so, you will need to replace the agitator due to it being stripped out. Here is the part to order.

Is it any user manual available in the web? I could not find any :)

i dont think you can but you can use the instructions below to operate you washing machine

Washing machines may have different technology, but ultimately have the same features and purposes. They all require the proper settings, soap, water and clothes to wash. Yet, there are some things you should know to properly use a washing machine. Follow these steps for success in doing your laundry.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); });
Instructions

  1. Read thoroughly your washing machine owner's manual. These instructions are designed for your particular washing machine. If you don't have an owner's manual, read the button control labels on your washing machine to get an idea of what they do.
  2. Sort your clothes. You should wash white or light-colored clothes together and dark-colored clothes together. Clothes should be further sorted according to their material. Heavy fabrics should be washed together and light fabrics should be washed together.
  3. Add detergent to your washing machine. Follow the instructions on the detergent box. The detergent should go on the bottom of the washing machine unless your washing machine instruction manual specifies otherwise.
  4. Use the special bleach or fabric softener dispensers for your particular washing machine, if you are adding bleach or fabric softener. Otherwise, follow the instructions on the bleach and fabric softener packaging to find out how much and when you should add them to the washing machine.
  5. Load your clothes loosely into the washing machine. Load the laundry as high as your owner's manual specifies or to the top row of holes in the tub.
  6. Close the lid and set the controls of your washing machine according to what you are washing. Use hot water for only white cottons. Use warm or cold water for colored fabrics. Set the other controls according to the weight and durability of your clothing.
  7. Turn on your washing machine. Allow it to work through all of the cycles and turn itself off before you unload the washed laundry.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });
Tips & Warnings
  • If you're going on vacation or not going to be using your washing machine for awhile, turn off the water faucets to your machine. It will relieve pressure on hoses and valves and minimize any leakage, should it occur.
  • Do not leave coins, nails, screws or anything else in the pockets of your clothes when putting them in the washing machine. They could easily cause damage or even puncture a hole in the drum.
  • Do not wash items that have been spotted or soaked with combustible substances. They could ignite or explode.
  • If you haven't used your washing machine for at least two weeks, and haven't used any hot water in your household, turn on your hot water faucets. Allow them to run for several minutes to release any built up hydrogen gas in your water heater.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

When the unit is unable to drain it will not even work in spin cycle, the problem is with blocked drain/drain pump filter which should be cleaned. If after cleaning the problem comes back then the drain pump needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My GE space saver stackable washing machine will

Im haveing the same exact problem on the same exact machine... I have taken all the pannels off, and drained the water. I was wondering if there may be a way that the pump lost it's prime and needs to be re-primed? (wishfull thinking on my part.) There was no indication that the pump burnt out, it just stopped working instantly with no symptoms. The other functions seem to work, it will agitate the laundry, and then will just stop when it comes to the pump cycle. Any help is appreciated. Thank You.
