Hello,

One common paper feed problem related to Lexmark printers is a paper jam deep inside the printer. Usually this happens immediately after another piece of paper has jammed the printer. The first sheet of paper leaves behind a small torn piece of paper inside the printer. When you print another document, the next piece of paper hits the smaller piece of paper inside the printer. So, you can't print until you find the small piece of paper. To solve this problem, turn off the printer, open the front cover and look under the rollers and flap doors for the piece of paper. You may have to use something flat like a thin piece of cardboard to stick in between the flap doors to remove the paper. Once the piece of paper has been removed, turn the printer back on and resend your document to the printer.

Lastly, read the lexmark jam tips on the below link as it might be helpful.

Good luck.

    Hello,

disconnect the printer from your computer, uninstall the printer software/program from your computer's control panel, restart your computer, reinstall the printer software and try again.

    Good luck.

Please be surethat all paper and shreds of paper have been removed. If you want to be sure, here are step by step guide made by Lexmark
www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/lexmarkc720/eng/jams.pdf
lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/w820/eng/prfedprb.pdf
http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&actp=LIST_RECENT&id=SO4124&locale=en&userlocale=EN_US
and finally you can try to press the buttons for the paper jam error and then unplugging the unit, wait for a while then plug it back in.
If the error does not clear after the above steps, sensors or rollers may be the culprit, and as professional repair men says, there are no user serviceable parts, beyond the opening or doors, latches, lock, specially the inner parts, such as the rollers, gears and sensors, for they are quite sensitive and there is a risk of shock.
Hope the steps above clears your problem.

Paper jammed open left cover

Hello, To solve this problem try follow this steps
1. Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.

2. Turn off the printer.

3. Remove any paper trays, inspect them for wrinkled or damage paper.

4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.

5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly
The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.

7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper.

8. Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.

9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
Thanks

Lexmark x6575 printer error message clear paper jam

Success and relief at last!

Thanks to Dinky on another web site who had the same problem with his Lexmark X6575 printer (a similar printer). The resolution of the problem once I had read Dinky's explanation took less than 30 seconds!

Dinky's exact words on the issue are as follows:

" Dinky commented 5 months ago
Hooray!!!...after lots of hours trying to fix my printers 'Paper Jam' message, even tho' there was no paper jam in my lexmark x6575, but the message refused to go away...I have finally got it to work!!!...

WHAT I DID......
There is a long silver metal bar that the ink cartridges run along. Well just underneath this there is 8 little roller feet that sit on top of another silver/cream roller. Well in between these, in the very centre, you will see a little black plastic nib like thingy...While the machine is turned on, press this little black thingy (best to use a pen or something like, as it's small) and what should happen is the silver/cream roller will make a quick rolling motion....Hey! presto the 'jam message' disappears and the lcdmag-glass_10x10.gif screen should show set-up options (like date, time, ect).

I hope these instructions are clear enough to follow, and I also hope this solves that dreaded 'Paper Jam' message for you all....Good Luck!
Regards, Dinky "

Canon MF3240 Paper Jam - No Real Jam

try this
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Very frustrating ... checked all over for remaining jams - but the message "paper jam" just won't go away after clearing a paper jam. Eventually, it goes away but no way to predict how long it will take!
