I need to reset my bios password.i have forgotten the password.but i have the fingerprint that enrolled.but i have unchecked logging on with fingerprint.my laptop is A8-S8314.thank you

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link: http://www.fixya.com/support/r7229632-reset_or_remove_bios_password

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

Finger print enrollment

The security software should have been installed at Toshiba. If not it is easy to download and install. You should have a biometric coprocessor driver which runs the scanner. That sounds like what is missing. If you had to reinstall windows this may not have been put back in.

To get the drivers go to www.toshiba.com and then click on support.-mobile computing - drivers download. This pops up a new window that you now have to click on what model you have. I have a Tecra A8 201E so I click on notebook in the left, Tecra, then A8 and then on 201E then click on the go button. You should filter by operating system so you are only looking at the right drivers. There are three downloads for the security. One will be called HDD security, TPS Trusted Platform Security, and Fingerprint software. If you download those and save to your desktop then you can easily run then as needed. When you have them run the one called fingerprint software. That should install the scanner drivers and may be all that you need. Try running it after installing this. Make sure your backup password is something you can remember. If your scanner fails and you can't remember that then you can get locked out of your computer.

The TPS provides some other tools such as a 'safe' that saves files in an encrypted area. You can disable it if it inteferes too much.

The HDD utility locks the hard drive which can stop people from using your computer as they won't have your fingerprint to unlock the drive.

Toshiba Tecra 8000 Laptop has been stored for 1 year, never had a password, now when turned on just sits there asking for a password, pulled it apart and disconnected 2? batteries but made no difference

Try accessing the BIOS screen when it boots up by pressing either the ESC or F1 keys repeatedly and there should be a password or supervisor password section where you can disable all the passwords.

HOW TO REMOVE BIOS PASSWORD AND FINGERPRINT PASSWORD

Actually you can clear the BIOS password by resetting the CMOS jamper. If you are familiar with CMOS jamper it is easy for you. Open your laptop with the use of screw driver. Once you are already open it locate the CMOS jamper near the CMOS battery at the south bridge of your laptop motherboard. Remove the jamper with in 5 seconds after that reinsert and trun on your laptop.

Windows won't load w/o a bios password

My guess is that you have a Thinkpad. The fingerprint feature can be disabled from the BIOS with the supervisor password. You need to supply more information about your system. Hope this helps
