Question about Canon SmartBase MP390 All-In-One InkJet Printer

CANNON MILTIPASS MP390

I WAS PRINTING A PHOTO AND 1/2 THREW IT THE PRINTING STOPPED

THE ERORR READS PUT IN CARTRIDE

I REPLACE THE IN JETS AND IT STILL SAY PUT IN CARTRIDGE

DO I NEED A NEW PRINTER HEAD.. AND WHERE CAN I GET ON
I GOT ONE AT OFFICE DEPOT A WHILE BACK BUT THEY DONT CARRY THEM ANYMORE.... BUT THEN AGAIN NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE
PROBLEM....... PLEASE HELP..... THANKS

    kool... i though thats what it was but i still dont know where to get one in las vegas.. i live in san jose california and no clue where to go in vegas.. office max and office depot both

    do not carry anymore....

Hello Dear,
The Print Head in your printer is physically damaged and so even though it is present and installed it will not be detected by the Printer, you need to purchase and install a new print head for your printer and this will solve yore problem definitely, you can get this print head from any Authorized Canon Care Centers, if you do not get it there you can revert me back.

Cannon mg3122 prints every other line lighter then the others


Run a "nozzle check". It should show that some of the "jets" inside the print-head are clogged.
Also, try a "print-head-cleaning" cycle.
Finally, try replacing the ink-cartridges.

Why it can't print?


It won't print if your ink cartridge is empty. Check the black and white and also the color cartrides by doing the following:

1. Slide your hand underneath the front cover and open up the case.

2. Find your ink cartrides usually located on the left on the inside of the casing.

3. Gently pull up (usually) on the cartridge and take it out and shake it. You will know if it is empty or full when you shake it. If the color is full but the black and white is out that is probably the problem. Many printers won't work if the black and white cartridge is empty because that's usually the primary color.

4. Go to Walgreen's or a similiar store and purchase a new cartridge and then just reverse the steps putting it back in. Make sure you take note where each cartride is located when taking them out and put them in their correct position when you put them back in.

This should solve your problem and you should be printing again in no time flat!

My son just gave me a Cannon Mutipaas 390. It is connected to my HP labtop but will not print. I have reset several times, mt labtop has it as default but when you turn it on the ink cartride does not go...


Did you install the driver for the printer? You might have forgotten to install it. If you haven't installed it yet, you need to find the cd that comes with the printer. You put it in your computer's dvd drive. Let it run and follow the instructions on the screen.

When printing photo's on my Cannon Pixma MP 500 there are lines horizontally across the photo at 4mm intervals. I have tried head cleaning and alignment to no avail. I have tried both Cannon original ink...


It's probably a blocked jet in the print head but could also be a page registration issue. Try gently wiping the print head with a cotton bud dipped in an alcohol based cleaner

Try to unclog your printhead, release the printhead from the machine, take hot water in abowl, blow air on the upper black cartridge with an injection tool. At the same time put your printhead in to the bowl. Good luck

not a head problemm, more like the carriage cant slide or cant read its position on the rail.
/clean the thin plastic strip(encoder strip) that runs threw the carriage and the length of the rail

In the end, folks, I decided to pitch the machine altogether. And Canon gave me a great price break (free shipping, discount, etc.) because they had my original serial number on their records ... I have a new MX310 (multi-function - faxes, scans, prints, copies color and black and white) and I'm very happy with it. Easy to use and does the trick.

I did decide, though, to stop printing photos from this machine. It uses up too much ink. Better to just go to CVS or a photo store and have them do the deed on better paper and use their ink. Occasionally I print cards with pix on them, or a 4x6, but not a slew. And it's so nice having this machine in the house, when I don't work anymore in an office where you could do all that stuff if need be.
