Question about M-Audio Delta 1010 PCI CARD Sound Editing & Recording Sound Card
Is the M-Audio Delta 1010 PCI CARD capable of recording simoultaneously all vocals and instruments on each input, but separated by each ract on a multitract program mixer? If not possible , what other method can it be done?. Many Thanks
The answers are all over the place he so there is no real answer!! Let me try to help!!
First the Delta 1010 LT is a card that is meant to fit in a PCI slot on your motherboard, (most of the terms that you don't understand, you can enter the term with Wikipedia and there you will find appropriate definitions) There are different types of PCI slots.
The problems that happen I believe is that some Mother boards have sound built right into the mother boards. And There-in lies the conflict!!
Some MOBO (mother boards), have the option of turning off the MOBOs built in sound system. When you first start your computer go into the BIOS , (if you don't know about the BIOS and how to manipulate things there in, you should educate yourself before attempting changes). Read up on your particular mobo, on how to turn off the built in sound system.
The idea is to make your Delta 1010 LT default.
Yes you can record up to 10 in and 10 out (that is what 1010 means)
BUT only 1 and 2 have mic pre-amps.

Yes it does record. , What I wanted to do on my Delta 1010LT now is I want to record simoltaneously 4 voices of an acapella: bass, tenor, alto, and soprano.
and assign each track on a multitrack program each of the voices.
So I can just edit the bass only, if it has mistakes say the voice was not so deep or loud.
I have already done the usual method of doing it. which is record first the bass on the ist track, then add and record the tenor on the 2nd track , and so on. The problem I have with this is method is it would eat up a lot of recording session in the studio. A song would consume 2.5 minutes, the total hours that I will consume in the studio is at least 10 minutes for all the vooices.
if all is doing well.
Thanks, for any help you can share.
If it doesn't is there any M-audo product that can do the job?

It has 8 mono inputs or 4 stereo pairs, which can be recorded in cubase or whatever sequencer at once.
