Is my battery bad or do i have another issue? When i put battery in Gator it moves about 4 feet and then acts like battery is dead. but if i check the battery with a volt meter it is reading 12 volts. Hi moves foeward & reverse approx 6 feet stops dead ?

It can be any number of things.

1. Batteries are bad. Just because they are new, does not make them good or batteries you placed in the scooter are a lower (a.h.) than what is recommended by manufacturer.
2. short in the front/rear harness.
3. short in console.
4. park brake issue.
5. Thermal rollback.

It is an issue that a Technician should look at.

Battery is good but the gator wont move when pushing the accelerator

A lot of times the problem is with the accelerator switch going bad. To check, remove the red and white wire form the accelerator switch and connect them together. If you gator moves, then your switch is bad. You can get a replacement at mypegperegoparts.com

Goes in 1st and Reverse but not 2nd

Something you may want to check is to see if there is a "governor" for the 2nd gear. My 4 year old has a 4x4 similiar to this and the only two gears that worked were 1st & reverse until my husband had to unscrew a piece from the 2nd gear setting..check the manual or if you don't have one, look online through the manufacturers website. I hope this helps!

Old john deere gator and battery new charger still will not move

Could be several things.  Your battery could be bad. After not being charged for a while, they do go bad- often. You may want to try a new battery along with your new charger.  You could also have a switch /connection problem. If you get a new battery and it still doesnt work, you may want to check the switches and wiring. It is not uncommon for the switch to go bad especially if it had been stored outside.
