My printer ix5000 error 6500. pls help me... what happent with my printer.....thk....

Hello thanks for using fixya
To solve it First try this:
  • Reset the printer:
  • Turn the printer off with the Power button
  • Disconnect the data cable from the printer.
  • Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in.
  • Turn the printer on. If this works you have solved the problem
If not try the next step
  • After confirming that the printer is powered on,open the paper output tray
  • Open the top cover and wait until the print head moves to the center.
  • Open the inner cover and check that ink tanks are properly seated.
  • Press down on each ink tank until a click is heard.
  • Close the inner cover and top cover.

Also do you have any kind of data equipment like a camera connected, if so this could be causing the problem as well. Unplug it if so and see if this is the problem after the above steps

I hope this helps, because Canon doesn't even have support for an error code 6500.
If it all fails the final & best option is to take it back where you purchased it or contact Canon service center about the error code. They will surely solve it.

I hope this solution will helpful 4 u
Please don't forget to click on Four thumbs which are given below & then write testimonial for my appreciation if it is helpful
THANKS & Keep Using fixya

How to solve problem with my Canon iX5000 error code 5C00 ?

This error code is telling you that the purge unit did not complete a good power on cycle and the cam is not in the correct position. Typically this means the purge unit is stuck extended due to accumulation of a lot of dried up ink.

Open the cover and when the head comes to the center, pull the power cord. Once that power is off you can now move the carriage to the far left so it is out of the way. Now use a paper towel and gently blot all the excess ink off of the ink Pads and press them down. If the Wiper blade is extended, clean it and it should snap back in position. If it is still stuck, try spraying the area with Windex but don't get any on anything except the pads.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Thanks, Joe
