Screen will go blank with no audio. It won't shut off with either the remote nor physically pushing button on TV. Only way to get it to turn of is unplug it.

Are you connected to a surround sound system?? Which one? I have had the same problem with 2 different KDL40-EX 400's. I experienced picture freezes and non-response to the remote. The unit would not turn off with the remote or the onboard power switch, had to also be unplugged. Removing the HBD-E570 solved the probelm. TV works fine with only the onboard speakers (but sounds like ****)
I think there is a compatability problem between the TV and the surround sound system. (Theory) Could also be a bad HDMI cable (have not yet tested this) or a defective surround sound unit. Anyone hear of an incompatability issue with these units???

Hi,
This is a power supply problem, meaning either the power board has a fault or is detecting a fault from another circuit and shutting down. It shuts its self down to prevent further damage too the TV and prevent an electrical fire hazard. I know its probably something you don't want to know.....LOL but have a professional technician service the TV or take it back if its still under warranty.

Do you have a separate Cable Box? It sounds like you are shutting off the signal to the TV and may have to push a 'TV' button the remote then the 'off' button to actually shut down the TV.

When we push the power button on the remote or on the tv the green light comes on for one second and then shuts off ... tv won't turn on

you have a short circuit in the power supply.
1) test the power cord very well
2) test the main swithc for short or open
3)test the power supply, look for a short in transformer+coil+filter+diode+rectifier. and replace
4)test the HVRECT+fLYBACK+ horizontal output for +125Vdc +vertical output for +80Vdc ALL this go to the CRT
color +12vdc+other circuit +12vdc. The first thing do you will have is RASTER, see the block. d
God bless you

How do i program my remote

Hello;

Without knowing the codes for the specific brand names and models of your devices, this is how you program the Zenith MBR3447 for your TV, VCR, DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver:

TV

1. Push the "Power" button on the TV to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "TV" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the TV's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the TV fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the TV does shut off. Each time the "Power" button is pressed the Zenith MBR3447 tries using a different TV device code from its code library to turn the TV off. Therefore, when the TV finally does shut off it's an indication that the remote is temporarily programmed with the correct device code to control the brand of TV you're using.
6. Press "Enter" to save the current code.

VCR

1. Push the "Power" button on the VCR to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "VCR" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the VCR's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the VCR fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the VCR does shut off. Then press "Enter."

DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver

1. Push the "Power" button on the device your programming the remote to control to manually turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "AUX" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the device's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the device fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the device does shut off. Then press "Enter."

When i push the on button tv turns on or makes clicking sound timmer light flashes and turn off. another thing is when i push device on remote or tv the tv turns off or screen turns blue then shuts off

I would start by pressing the reset button on the front of the screen. After you are able to turn the tv on, press menu the 2470 then press enter on the remote to reset the tv. This might fix your problem. If not suspect the E2P, and if that doesn't work your DM is faulty and needs replaced.

If there is an input button on the remote push it. Then when the input menu pops up on the tv screen choose one item at a time until the picture appears.
