Canon pixma mx892 front door flap broke - was printing but now I get lots of clicking noises and then a message telling me to power off. The rear paper tray does work but lots of clicking.

What's the error message? Did it give you an error number?

My first thought: That printer detects if the front door is fully open, and if it's not, it gives you an error message and makes you turn it off and on. So look at the hinges where the door was connected and see if you can see the switch that tells the printer whether the door is open. Then figure out how to move that switch to the "open" position.

I hate that front door.

How do get access to the top driverside door hinge

Here is the repair procedure straight from Ford manual, but it doesnt give any information about access problems, I will ask a coworker and see if he knows:

Removal and Installation
  1. NOTE: Front and rear door hinges can be removed and installed using this procedure.

Support the front door (20124) or rear door (24630) for service using Rotunda Flexi-Work Table 156-00070 or equivalent.
  1. Mark the location of the front door upper hinge (22800) or lower door hinge on the front door or rear door and body.
  1. Remove the door hinge-to-body retaining bolts.
  1. Remove the door hinge-to-door retaining bolts. Remove front door upper hinge or lower door hinge.
  1. To install, position the front door upper hinge or lower door hinge to the front door or rear door and body. Install retaining bolts.
  1. Adjust the front door or rear door as outlined. Tighten hinge retaining screw and washer assemblies to 25-35 Nm (18-25 lb-ft) and remove the support.

How to change ink cart. in hp psc 2210 all in one printer

  1. Turn on the unit, then open the print cartridge access door. The print carriage moves to the center of the unit. Never attempt to move the carriage by hand.
  2. Press down lightly on the top of the ink cartridge latch and pull the lower section of the latch out to release the cartridge.
  3. Pull the cartridge out of its holder.
  4. Carefully remove the protective tape from the new cartridge.
  5. Reinsert the new cartridge into the carriage at a slight angle. When the cartridge is fully inserted into the carriage, rock it upright.
  6. Hold the hinged flap of the latch out while lowering the latch.
  7. When the latch is fully lowered release the hinged flap. It should catch under the tabs on carriage.
  8. Close the cartridge access door.
  9. The LCD display may indicate the cartridges need to be aligned. Load paper and press "Enter" on the front panel.Discard the alignment pages that print.

Keeps stating remove paper from platen glass before copying when trying to use the feeder. Nothing on the platen glass.

First you must lift the dadf all way up, because (from front looking) on left side under /by dadf hinge is white flap. This flap registers the lifting and pulling down of dadf.Probably is only that.
...but check if its broken or stuck,...

Or you have broken sensor or some part in sensors, or piece of paper, or similar in dadf

Broken front door

Sorry to say, but you probably won't be able to get a replacement part from anyone, unless you find a used broken printer. Those printers are so cheap that no one has any parts for them. Technicians couldn't justify the charge for fixing one. Better to either live with the break or buy a new printer.

Replace lower door seal

Well, job done. I tried using cable ties to hold the hinges down without success, string would have broken immediately. The only way to do it without a specially made tool is to insert screwdrivers in the narrow gaps between the hinge and the frame with the handle held in place by the bottom of the door and the seal that is being replaced. The problem with this is that when the door is fully removed the screwdrivers are likely to slip and the hinges slam shut, disastrous if any body part is in the way. What is needed is another pair of hands to hold both screwdrivers in place. Apart from having to work around your helper( get a thin one if possible) the rest is easy. Fit the seal to the frame first, then position the fixing plates and hod in place with a paper clip in the lower screw hole. Re-attach the door to the hinge fixing the top screws first, remove the paper clips and fit the lower screws. Your helper can now make the tea whilst you re-fit the rest of the door.
