Question about Gateway MX6453 Notebook

1 Answer

I believe my WiFi card has gone bad since all I get trying to connect to the internet is "Can Not Connect..." Does this mean the card has gone bad (it has been degrading lately) or maybe something else? To repair it should I take it to the shop or buy the card and try to install the card myself?

Hi

I would ist go to the wireless icon on my taskbar try to repair it or reconnect it making sure that you have the correct password if there is any

If that dont wok i would go to device manager find the wireless card that should be in the network section then make sure that it is not disabled somehow and if its isnt disabled i would then go into the properties of the driver uninstall it then restart computer windows will then reload it and there is a problem with it windows should tell you

hope this works for you

My itouch wont connect to internet

Verify that you do in fact have a wifi connection by opening up safari and going to a webpage. You may try going to settings and trying a network reset. This will reset your internal antenna to factory settings.

Hello. my problem goes this way. we have WiFi router at home and we can connect our laptop with it so we can access internet easily. there's no problem about when last night i dont know why i even...

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

I dont have wireless device on my pc, can i use my mobile's wifi using data cable to connect my pc to internet if yes how?

I assume your talking about your mobile phone's wifi. No you can't use a cable to connect to your "mobile's wifi" wifi means wireless. You would need a wireless adapter/card on your computer to connect your pc to the internet. You can get a wireless adapter/card for pretty cheap here is a link to an example:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6304447&CatId=2688

Then you would be able to get the internet through the wifi. Please take a moment to accept/rate my solution accordingly.
Thank you,
Lee

Why do need to contact my network admin, or service provider. Doesn't make it very mobile?

If I understood correct, the computer is asking you to connect to the internet through a service provider. What this means is that you are not identified as having a real access to the internet.

You actually have three ways of connecting to the internet, when connecting from a laptop:
  1. with a wire, and then connecting it to a source of internet (like a modem)
  2. wireless - which means that you must have a wireless internet provider (WiFi). For example, a lot of the coffee shops have a WiFi access, which means that you can ask for a username and a password when you enter a coffee shop, and then may connect to the internet.
  3. a cellular card, which is provided usually by a cellular provider services. You can purchase it for a few bucks each month, and then you should be connected to the internet anywhere you want to (with a WiFi or without it)
A laptop is pretty mobile, but it depends where...
