Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hello, I just by a NWZB152, and my XP do not recognize it. I check, and i have XP sp3, and Windows Media Player 11 instaled. In Device Manager, under device status it says "Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18) To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver." When I try to reinstall it , its like it cant find the drivers, the last message from the "Found new Hardware Wizard" says "Cannot install this Hardware There was a problem installing this hardware: MTP Device An error ocurred during the installation of the device The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." What could be wrong? How can i make it work? Thanks.

Go to device manager. You will find MTP with a yellow mark on it. Right click - properties and uninstall. When hardware wiz come up again, cancel the driver install, and should not bug you again. If you really need this device, (don't think you do) look for driver on MB manufactures web site.

Philips go gear sa3245/97 not starting

You can download content to a Philips GoGear multimedia player using Windows Media Player or MusicMatch Jukebox in Windows. Earlier versions of Windows starting with 2000/ME and XP are compatible with GoGear. If the device is not recognized by the Windows XP operating system or is receiving error messages, you may have older versions of the necessary software installed. There also may be firmware issues with the GoGear device.

Instructions

Connect the Philips GoGear to another USB port on the computer. Sometimes USB ports go out, especially those in the front of the computer case. Try inserting the GoGear into another port and see if XP can now recognize the device.

Download Service Pack 1 or later for the XP operating system (see Resources). Philips GoGear can only operate on XP systems with at least Service Pack 1 installed. You may also receive an error message pertaining to the service pack when trying to insert the installation disc for the GoGear support software.

Install the latest version of Windows Media Player. Philips GoGear requires at least Windows Media Player 11. Windows Media Player 11 is available for XP .

Install the latest version of MusicMatch Jukebox (see Resources). Earlier version of this software may be causing error messages regarding missing MP3 tag information and missing tracks. Follow the download prompts, then unzip the folder and click on the "HDD_xxx.exe" installation file. The latest version of the software will be installed.

Install the latest firmware on the Philips GoGear. The actual firmware required depends on your GoGear model. Open either Philips Device Manager or Songbird, depending upon which management software you are currently using. Close all programs on the computer except for the Device Manager/Songbird. Connect the GoGear to the power supply and the computer. Click the "Repair" tab in the Device Manager and click "Repair," or click "Tools" in Songbird and select "Check for updated firmware," and the firmware will be updated on the GoGear.

I can't find a download site for drivers.

Hello,

The player should be detected in Windows Media Player 11 automatically. If not, look in WMP11 under Sync in the page top if you can manage to get the device recognized manually. An update of the operating system and WMP11 maybe required to get the function to work.

You can use the Setup Guide for how to work with WMP 11.
Setup Guide:
http://www.cobyusa.com/files/setupguide/MP705_SG.pdf
More information about how to use WMP11 is on the site of Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/using.mspx

In case you need the User Guide, here's the link to the manual:
http://www.cobyusa.com/files/manuals/MP705_MN.pdf

When wanting Coby Media Manager for XP, you can get a download of the execute file coby-mediamanager-2009b0924.exe on next site:
http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=fix_mp822
After download and installation, run Coby Media Manager: select Tools > Device Manager...: select MP-705 from the list: click Add : click OK to have the MP-705 as your operating device.

Samsung yp s3 doesnt work on xp

I have Windows XP and Media Player 10.

I had same problem with Samsung media studio not recognizing MP3 player. Here is how I fixed it. With the MP3 plugged in, I had to go into System/ Hardware/Device Manager and find the S3 driver under "Windows portable Media" and uninstall it. Then unplug and replug the S3 into the usb so that driver gets reinstalled.

Then I decided windows media player and samsung media studio are unnecessary for transferring music files to MP3 player.

Instead I go into Portable Media Devices from the control panel and just treat the MP3 player like a usb device. I copy folders of music and songs into the Music folder on the MP3. For me this is way easier than the Samsung music studio or Windows Media player.
