Leaking Refrigerators
Leaking Refrigerators
I hear a lot of complaints from people that see water leaking into their refrigerator from seemingly nowhere. Water appears in different places and even inside or under a refrigerators that does not have a water or a ice dispenser! Frost free refrigerators defrost the ice that collects on the evaporator coil on the average of about every 8 hours so the water that accumulates during defrost has to go somewhere right?

Making ice slowly even after filter change

Hi there
It sounds to me that the fridge is "too loaded" and may be "working too hard". Try to lighten the load and put the power up one hack.

Hi I have a fridgemaster mftr280r and it doesnt seem that cold in the fridge, the freezer is a bit over-iced and needs a defrost. Will this help the fridge from becoming cold??

whatever,it cant not help,as long as you do a COMPLETE defrost(leave it for at least 24 hours.then dry out thoroughly.clean any drains/vents then restart as new.let it settle for at least 24 hours then check/refill.fridge is +5C...freezer is -18C,optimum temps...

Water/condesation collecting at the bottom of my fridge

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

No airflow from refrigerator vents

While it could be the fan, it is more likely that you have ice in the passages...which can also jam a fan.  Defrost the unit completely to clear the passages, clean the evaporator (under the unit) and avoid keeping the door open in the future.  Uncovered containers also contribute to frosting up.  When refilling the fridge, be aware of location of vents and allow air passage.

Fridgemaster mtrl 130 keeps icing up horrendously. what might the problem be?

sounds like a faulty thermostat, turn this down to its lowest setting possible if it doesnt turn off you will have a faulty stat,it can be checked with a container of ice and a multimeter, place the thermostat bulb or wire into the ice the thermostat should break circuit,do not try this unless you are somewhat mechanically or electrically minded if you do attempt this UNPLUG the supply voltage first
