Try this.....Press menu....enter (# 1 2 0). Now select up or down key to get tone or pulse. Then select Save then off.

    This phone does not have a menu button as such,you have to scroll through,starting at caller list. Should I go to initial setup?

    On the Kx-TGA652 handset, which is the handset for the KXTG 6511 phone, the menu key should be the soft key in the middle above the navigation key. Press it and that should display Menu. Here's the link to the operating Instructions. http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANP...

Changing from pulse to tone panasonic phone
Touch the following keys: Menu 0 5 1 and then select 1 (tone, the factory default) or 2. Then Save (a softkey with the label in the LCD screen) and Off (opposite Talk on the keypad).

The manual for the Panasonic KX-TG5664 is available from Panasonic here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTG5664.PDF . See page 17 for setting the Dialing mode.

Both phones have no dial tone and don't work - could it be because they don't support digital?

The cordless phones supports pulse dialing than tone now a days.
If your provider supports pulse dialing & tone you can just change the tone to pulse to use cordless phone. Otherwise you have to request for pulse dialing from your provider.

Need to change phone back to tone dialing
Here's what the manual says: Changing the Dial Mode (Tone or Pulse Dialing) (HS1 only) Your phone can communicate with the telephone network in two different ways: tone dialing or pulse dialing. These days, most phone networks use a method called tone dialing, so your phone comes programmed for tone dialing. If your phone company uses pulse dialing, you need to change your phone's dial mode. If you don't get a dial tone or can't connect to the telephone network, follow the steps below to modify your phone?s settings: With the phone in standby, press and hold [cid/menu]. Press [vol/ / ] to move the pointer to select DIAL. Press [select/channel] to set the phone to pulse dialing. Press [end]. Return the handset to the base. The handset communicates the new setting to the base, and the base activates the setting on any other handsets. Hope this helps out. K
