Question about Lenovo Thinkpad T60 Notebook
I check the back side of Lenovo T60 laptop, but still can not find where I can pull out the cover and put more memory in it. Would you please find the solution for me? Many thanks
Ok the RAM location is actually underneath the touch pad on the top of your keyboard. However, to get to the memory area where you can add/remove RAM cards you need to do the following:
STEP 1) On the botton the latop you should see 4 screws that have a "memory chip" ICON. These are the 4 screws you want to take out. (important note: my T60 has 4 screws with this icon, yours might have 5). Please the screws somewhere secure so they are not lost.
STEP 2) After you take out the screws noted in step 1. Flip your laptop and open it up as if you were going to type something.
On each side just below the keys pull up gently and the botton portion that has the touch pad will come up. You want to pull it back towards you. You won't be able to complete remove it away from the laptop, because there's a ribbon cable connecting the touch pad. So just move the piece back toward you out of the way (in essence peeling it back toward you).
STEP 3) You should now see the RAM card(s) they will have a bracket mechanism on each side of the RAM card, push them outward to unlock the RAM card (if your removing.
STEP 4) If your ADDING RAM. Evaluate if you need to remove existing cards or not. To install RAM you insert the new card in the slot, then push it down and it should snap int place.
STEP 5) Place the touch pad plate back into position and push it to snap down.
STEP 5) Close laptop cover, flip over and insert the screws back into their positions.
