Question about Toshiba (MK2006GAL) 20 GB Hard Drive

1 Answer

Hi there, so I pulled a Toshiba MK2006GAL out of my Creative Zen, and I got myself a All-in-One USB Card Reader that has a port that fits right for the Toshiba MK2006GAL HD. Now I connect to my ACER Ferrari One 200 Windows 7 64 Bit. The system says necessary USB drivers had been installed, but I can't seem to open/explore my Toshiba, any solution??

Although your drive: http://sdd.toshiba.com/main.aspx?Path=StorageSolutions/1.8-inchHardDiskDrives/MK2006GAL

physically fits into one of the slots in that Card Reader, it is not making any "electronic" connections, i.e,. no power is reaching the Toshiba, and no "data" cable is connected from the Toshiba to the Card Reader.

Similarly, although you can fill your automobile's gas-tank with water, there still is a fundamental "incompatibility" to be overcome.

Yes, Windows is recognizing that you connected a USB device into a USB port on your computer, but that's all that has happened, from Windows "point-of-view".

How do you access sd card

You can insert the SD memory card into an USB card reader and then plug it into the computer's USB port.
The computer will see the SD card as an external storage device, you can then view the contents of the SD card and copy the files to your computer.

Additional SD card memory installed in the card slot

Check to see if it is the proper SD card. while several size ( memory) cards may fit the port the player may only recognise a 2 or 3 gig card.

it may be in a low power state, try a different usb cable and hook it up to a desktop computer (laptop ports are sometimes not powerful enough to charge the battery when it is in a low-power state).

Also check out creative.com/support and look at their support forumns
