Lcdscreen white

-   I have a Fuji FinePix S5000 and it worked fine for about 3 years then one day the screen became white. The menu menu is visible on the LCD screen and also on the view finder however it will not take pictures at all. I have tried new batteries and reset the camera with no results. I know if the LCD screen were bad I could not see the menu.
Is there a simple fix or do I need to find a new camera. I enjoy this one and like the quality of the pics.
Please help?

-   Don't confuse the problem chamberlin1, our problem is the lcd, not the pictures the camera takes!
I got the same problem, my whole lcd screen is white, the camera can still take photos, i can transfer them through to the pc and they're in perfect shape. The problem is that the screen in always white, so i can't access the menu or anything that had to be done with the help of the lcd.
As others, i don't think the camera suffered from any accidents, no visible cracks or scratches.
If anyone dealt with this problem please give us a little insight!

-   Well I have some information for you. My wife dropped the camera during new years (go figure) So I took the camera apart and got the P/N off the LCD. The P/N is: LS025A3DB03S . I've googled the P/N and it is available. The camera works fine otherwise, so I am going replace this screen and see if this solves the issue. At first I was hoping it would just be a cable or something. I will let you know the outcome when I get the screen. -   HitNWakes
