If your mobile says "SIM not valid" then it must be a network problem. If your mobile is locked to a network you can only use that SIM. IF you need to use other network SIM you have to get a unlock code from your service provider. This is the reason why your mobile showed that message. Sites online also provide unlock codes. I usually unlock at www.wickedunlock.com which gives good solution.
