Check that you have fresh batteries in the camera.Check that the camera has rechargeable LiIon batteries, as recommended by the manufacturer. That's what I use in my Kodak camera, and using alkalines didn't work for me.

Camera turns on and off immediately

Try using batterys with a higher amp hour rating, also try cleaning the battery contacts inside the compartment with a cotton cue tip dampened with 100% alcohol (tape head cleaning fluid). If it is cold where you live, try warming up batterys in your hands or pocket for 10-15 minutes first.

My battery is fully charged, camera goes on and shuts off.

this generally happens if you have dropped it. when the message comes. try tapping the camera. if it works then you are lucky. if not then you have to change the lens array. it costs about 60$

My camera will not turn on

Hey Aunt CC,
What is most likely happening is there is something obstructing the movement of the lens (like a piece of sand), and that is why it keeps powering down immediately when you turn the camera on. Another cause of this camera powering down immediately could be the battery cover or memory card cover is open. If those covers are not open I would have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician.

Sincerely,
Allan

Pentax A10 Camera turns on and off immediately

Larry

I am having the same problem with an A10 that I have. I can turn it on by holding down the viewscreen button and view the images that are in memory, but if I just turn it on the lens never opens and the camera immediately turns itself off.

Just wondered if you'd had any responses that helped you diagnose the problem. If you could email me at brains@abacusintegration.com with any info I'd appreciate it.

Thanks much,

Bob
