We have lived in our flat for 3 years and have had to replace the fuse for the bathroom fan 4 times in the last few days!!!!!! It makes a pop noise. We are not using anything else nor have we changed anything. It was fitted with a 3 amp fuse which is what we are replacing it with. Is this strong enough? Help!

Why no picture, no sound?

A loud "pop" in any electronic device is the equivalent of a massive heart attack for a human. They normally don't survive them. The noise is from some capacitor somewhere in the device exploding from old age or a power surge. And old age for newer TVs is in the range of 3 years, some even less. It's the way they make them these days...they want you to be buying a new one in just a few years, so they under-engineer the electronics to the bare minimum so they don't have the long-lasting lifetime of the older style electronics we have come to appreciate.

Power Supply popped a cap and fried the metal resistor bank. Replace the cap C241 and solderer the resistor bank. Worked for two months then pop out again. This time the resistor bank burnt through. Bought a new power supply DPS-38cp-1a from ShopJimmi.com $56.00 Replace supply which lasted 1 year 1 day and the same thing happen. Same components. Got this TV free but its costing me time and money now.

The bathroom exhaust fan in our bungalow is leaking this past week every few days , we are not handy folks and so we are wondering what type of professional do we call in to deal with this leak and...

Sounds like the issue is simply condensation inside the exhaust pipe where it passes through the un-heated attic space. If you use the shower and the exhaust fan, lots of humid air is passing over the inside surface of a very cold duct, then running back down to your bathroom ceiling. You could get any non-specialist handyman to wrap insulation around that duct in the attic. But you can mitigate the problem by running the fan for a few minutes before you start the shower (thereby pre-heating the duct before you give it a blast of moist air) , and leaving it run for 20 minutes afterwards (thereby drying out the duct after use). Regarding the discolored ceiling, the handyman can apply some stain-covering white primer too.

The 12 volt battery(LUCAS 065/3) on my FORD FIESTA 1100cc is 4 years old, in that time i have only driven 1,600 miles as my journeys are usually very local. I make sure i use the car twice a week to keep...

Running so few miles has accelerated the aging of the battery - the battery never had a chance to fully recharge in such small trips -  so now you have to replace it a year sooner than usual.
Just replace it.

Last year my gable fan seemed to work fine. I

As it's protected by circuit breaker it also might be fused, so check for fuses.
Next just dig to the wiring and measure the resistance betveen Live and Neutral using simple multimeter. If there's no reading then there might be a small fuse (or thermofuse) attached to the windings, make sure this one is fine, if yes then motor windings are burned and you'll need new fan, otherwise just replace the fuse.

Good luck

3 amp fuse blowing in York central A/c

a blown fuse is a sign of a short circuit. either connections are touching each other or a relay is busted. Have it checked. Have the system leak checked also, this would result to better cooling/heating and energy savings.

55 in Sony KDF55WF655 Goes to standby and red light blinks 4 times

Check the thermal sensor fuse part# 1-910-023-93 or possibly one of the four fans. If the unit goes into Fan/Thermal Protect shutdown (4 blinks) it can be difficult to determine the cause since the unit turns off too quickly to troubleshoot. Solution: Ground the data line by inserting a jumper between pins 3 and 6 of CN44 on the H4 board. This overrides the protection circuits for troubleshooting. Do this right after turning the unit on and as soon as the lamp is seen lighting. Check pins 2, 5, 8, and 11 of CN6000 on the G2 board for less than 1VDC. Any voltage higher than that indicates a faulty fan. If all voltages are within specs, the H4 board must be replaced. If a fan is found defective, the optical block will need to be replaced if it is located inside the assembly. H4 Board Part Number: A1054674A Replace the following part based on which pin of CN6000 is out of specs: Pin 2: Fan 1 (part of optical block) Pin 5: Fan 2 178723211 Pin 8: Fan 3 178706511 Pin 11: Fan 4 178708111 Optical block Part Number: A1084662A
