I would not try to use the Coby manager, and just do it manually. Add your own files in with the MUSIC,MOVIE,PHOTO,TEXT files. Just name it whatever you want. Add music into those files. You will get multiple songs piling up if you search for just one song in the 'All songs', but I never use that anymore anyway so I don't care.
After adding your songs, turn on your player, refresh, go to Music, Browser, find you file and start playing. The list with change for each new file you add. It's a bit of a hassle , and I wish I had known there was not any real way of making a playlist but what's done is done. I'll just never by Coby again.

I got it to work but it is a bit unorthodox.
I use the Coby Manager to create playlists. Just expand the screen, so you can see the create playlist function. Expand it even more so you can see and name the playlist.

This helps me organize my different lists, But the MP620 does not give options to play these playlists. Here is the work around: I highlight all the songs in my playlist (using the coby manager) and then I right click and change the properties. I change the album name, or genre, or artist.

This way, I don't have to listen to language lessons while exercising.

ooh, even better. I like to leave the album and artist alone but I just change the genre.

If you go into "browser" from the "music" menu then press the button that has the = above it while highlighting a song it will let you put into the default playlist that it has on it, however i don't think there is a way to make other playlists besides the default one.

How do I put songs in playlist on my Coby MP620 MP3 player

The Coby is weird, but I found a way to create playlists. It might not be the "real" way, but it works :)
Before I plug the mp3 in my computer I create folders containing the songs I want for each play list. For example I'd create one folder labeled "work out" for songs I want to listen to while working out, and another folder labeled "sleep" for songs to listen to while sleeping, or you could label them based on artists or genre or etc. Then I would copy the songs I want in each playlist into their respective folders.
Next, I plug my coby into my computer, and open it's folder. (should be in computers, and have a icon with a C on it). I'd copy (or click and drag into the coby folder) my play list folders (the ones I labeled work out and sleep). Then eject and remove my mp3.
If you do this, when you turn on your mp3 you should select Music. Then select Broswer (on the bottom). Select the first row, which has the symbol "\" [underneath this is all your songs] and you'll see the names of your play list folders (they'll be below ROOT, MAC OS X Coby Me, and PHOTOS) . If you select your play list name you'll see and be able to play the songs under that playlist.

I have a Coby MP620-8G mp3 player. For some reason, I've been getting a whole bunch (at least 15 albums) of my artists thrown into the Unknown Artist category, making it difficult to find songs. In my...

I just had this problem as well. Find one of the files that is showing up on the MP3 player as "Unknown Artist" in your iTunes library. Right click that song/file and click "Get Info". You'll most likely find that the song is an "ACC Audio File" which happens often when you copy CDs or download from the iTunes Store. Close the info window about the song and then you can select the entire album or individual songs from your iTunes playlist that are showing up as "Unknown Artist". Once all the songs that you need are selected, right click again and select "Create MP3 Version". This will create a duplicate, however, so you'll want to go back to the main library in iTunes (or stay there if you are already there) and then remove the original "ACC" versions. You can, if you'd like, keep them on your hard drive, but you really don't need them because MP3 is the standard. From here you can remove those files from the Coby MP3 player and replace them with the new MP3 versions you have created in iTunes.
I hope this helps!

I ADDED SONGS TO MY COBY MP815 USING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER AND NOW IT WONT TURN ON. I PLUG IT INTO MY COMPUTER USING MY USB AND WHEN I UNPLUG MY USB FROM THE MP815 THE SCREEN FLASHES WHITE FOR A QUICK...

Hello,

Assuming the player is charged. (For charging always connect directly to the computer, not through a reader or hub).
When buttons on the player do not react, reset the player:
Disconnect the player from the computer.
See that the HOLD button is not engaged.
Gently push the RESET button on the rear side: use a narrow pointed
object, like a paperclip.

Did synchronization of the songs in Windows Media Player fail ?
For transferring songs, check in Windows Media Player:
1. The player is detected in Windows Media Player 10 or higher.
2. Setup the Library / Add to Library: add the location of songs you want to transfer in the library.
3. Create Playlist; give the list a name and put songs in a playlist
4. Sync Playlist: transfer the list of songs onto the player and wait for the message until you're allowed to disconnect.

How to get songs back in the coby mp3?

Hello,

On the MP610 you could use either Windows Media Player 11 or Coby Media Manager for transfers of songs.

Next steps are important for adding files onto the player:
1. The player should be detected in the software for transfers, when connecting the USB cable.
2. Setup your library in the software (Add to library): There has to be a list of folders in the software manager, where your music is located on the computer.
3. Create a playlist in the software: make a list of songs, you want to transfer onto your player
4. Sync the playlist onto the player.

This mp3 wont format a play list

Hello,

For the MP-610 you can make playlists using Coby Media Manager.
In Coby Media Manager there's a help section that gives next information how to make playlists:
>>
You can create playlists to group songs (example “My favorite songs”).
To create a playlist, right click in the Playlists section (located on the left side of your Coby Media Manager window), and choose Add. A playlist is created. You can rename it using the F2 keyboard key.
<<
For Coby Media Manager download, go to next site:
http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=fix_mp822
Install the software as told and when running the Manager for the first
time go to the page top: Tools > Device Manager..
Select your player from the Devices List, this software can be used for.
Add the device, AC or AL version. Finally enter OK under the Favorite Devices list.

All support for the MP610:

If this was helpful, I'd appreciate your answer.
